What have you done to your P5 today?

let's see.. washed, waxed, vacuumed yesterday. Took my stereo out today in prep for goin to the shop for 3-4days to fix the rust in tailgate.

^^^ good question. I loaded up a race jack, breaker bar, torque wrench, 21mm deepwell socket and cooler and took her to crew / co drive RacerXGirl's MSP again :D

OUCH. Glad I went with the racing beat bar :D I got it for like 50 shipped with new e-code bushings, brackets, and even nuts/bolts, then like 35 or whatever for new rear (sedan spec) endlinks from ken and I was all set... until the clunk started :P

oh noes.... is it covered under warranty?

I doubt it., unless.. well maybe. If the rust started on the other side of that panel and it's bubbling the paint, that's rust perforation and it's covered. Both of my rear fenders are rusting, in different places than where it was bubbling through last time. I need to go to the dealership and ask them about it, but I'm going to play it safe and wait until my car is in winter mode with stock wheels and hood so that my car doesn't look too out of the ordinary :P. I'll most likely wait until winter is over, no sense fixing the rust right now when it's just going to rust more during the winter :P

Yes, it is being covered under warranty and I get a Mazda6 to borrow while they work on it. Took them a while to get me an answer. The problem is the weep holes dont go low enough to the edge. It appears water/salt is just pooling in the seam. They are supposed to fix all that and seal the intereior so this doesnt happen again. They are blaming mis-aligment of the skins on it? other than that one spot and the gazillion rock chips on the nose the car still looks new. Kind of nervous about leaving my car with them, not because I dont trust them. I just don't care for anybody keeping my car when I can't keep my eye on it.

awesome.. warranty work!! I got 2 free windshields out of mine... I'm sure they will be careful with her.. maybe you could go visit? How long will they have her?

The only warranty work my car ever received was after the normal warranty was gone.. for rust perforation :P I even paid $1000 for an extended warranty like an idiot.

Oh and today I put my summer shift knob back in because I missed it too much already, and then I got stuck trying to get out of my driveway because it has many layers of wet leaves covering the entire driveway. It took me 4 tries to get out.. I had to get a big head start on the short (car-length) flat part to make it up the hill and out onto the street. Good thing there wasn't anyone walking by on the sidewalk as I backed out.. I could have stopped in time but I wouldn't have wanted to :P I'd have to start the process all over again!

Drove to work, still LOVING the clunk fix bracket. Wow I didn't believe it could make such a difference in the overall driving feel of the car. It just feels so solid.

they say thru Friday... got the keys to a Lava Orange Mazda6 as my loaner. They said they saved it just for me since I seem to like brighter colored vehicles?! Man, wish my car had that motor in it. :) and yes, I will go see the car a few times over the next couple days. :)
