What have you done to your P5 today?

I drove 'er good n hard for a good bit...and then I woke up :(. 3 more weeks from today and I'll be back w/ her :)

Drove it like I stole today on a MI Mazda drive. Good times, with a couple Ohio guys in there as well. Everytime I looked back............(shocked) there was DaveB. Fun Times again. Perfect weather for some twisties...

Changed sparkplugs, removed valve cover and polished the hell out of it some more.

Washed and waxed her finally and cleaned out her interior some more - nothing to he extent altspace would do though... LOL. I finally took some pics too and I am going to post them as soon as I get them on my computer so you all can comment. I also converted my CAI into a SRI because I got sick of having to jack up my car and remove the mudguard to get to the filter.

wow altspace I really like the work on the valve cover...

I'm working on mine right now too :)

it's sitting in my garage with wrinkle paint on it.. I think I may have used too heavy a coat though, the wrinkling looks really weird right now. It's been 2-3 hours since I applied the paint, and I haven't hit it with a hair dryer (don't have a heat gun) so maybe that'll help.. I'll give it a try in a few.

If all goes well tomorrow when I bring my car in to make sure the hood paint is still a good paint match, I'll also be getting my RR Racing rear motor mount inserts in finally. I just need to track down my engine hoist brackets and reinstall them :P

*crosses fingers* I really hope my valve cover can come out looking like the mazdaspeed mx-5 valve cover.. if not i'm hitting it with the brake cleaner and just going with a semi-gloss black on it or something.

I should probably ask this in the paint your valve cover thread but it'll probably be answered much faster here -- how critical is it for me to prevent contamination during the valve cover painting process? Like I have it sitting on a scrap piece of plywood while painting, but I used brake cleaner all over the thing so I dunno.. do I need to do anything to really sanitize it before reintroducing it to my car? I do have a new valve cover gasket to go on it though so that's no issue.

Also I hope Advance Auto Parts carries NGK spark plug wires for our car.. my red sparkco wires are going to look so bad on top of a red valve cover.

I did it on my truck, and all that i did was make sure that it was spotless when i put it back on. I just wiped it down with alcohol, and a microfiber towel

yeah I think I'll do that and also make my next oil change a bit sooner just in case there are contaminants. I think I'm at maybe 70,500 or 71k miles and last changed with Redline Full Synth ($$$) at 66,700? I'm due really soon anyway.

Looking good Mark....I have to wipe my chin everytime I see pics of your car. I got mine detailed in and out but didn't have a chance to wax...hopefully tomorrow.

Seems like a lot of us were washing and detailing today. Sunny days FTW!!!

Liking the polish job. I guess those 8 mile trips finally took their toll and you had to swap plugs....j/k. I should actually give mine a good tune and clean the egr.

Installed "Factory Tuned" lowering springs. Broke one endlink for front sway bar and had to cut off the bolt cause I stripped it like it owed me money. Got a new endlink and getting new nut tommorow. Take pics soon.
