What have you done to your MSP today?

jumped off of I-35 and got home just in time for my car to get pounded with hail. No damage upon inspection though. Hope the guys in the DFW area are ok, saw the tornado footage...INTENSE!! 18 wheelers getting tossed like candy

We had several hail storms in the past year and oddly enough there was no damage to the cars. My dad walked outside and picked up a piece that was the size of a golf ball, but I guess it was too warm out and wasn't rock hard? I'm not going to complain, because that would have really ****** me over.

Sorry to be random, but... the SSAFC from Protege Garage: there are two, one is $400 and the other one is like $680. What's the difference between the two? Advantages and disadvantages of both...

The one for $400 is the AFC, the one for $680 is the FTC. AFC = Air/Fuel Controller which is pretty self explanatory and the FTC = Fuel/Timing Controller so as you can assume it also controls timing. Though be aware it will only retard the timing, not advance it.

no cap needed, it's not a high power stereo system. Just some inline fuses on the power wires. Your gauges should have directions for what size fuses to use. I've never had a seperate switch for any guages etc. just tap into an acc line and they'll come on with everything else like the radio and the fuses will be there incase anything goes wrong.

NOt sure about the gauges you have because I haven't used prosport but the wideband has 4 wires I believe. white, brown (or blue?), black and red. I haven't looked at the wires in a while. The white and brown are for data logging and I think you just have the factory ecu so don't worry about those. Your black is ground so look for a good grounding source. I beleive there is one near the in cabin fuse area. The Red is your power wire. This one you ned the in-line fuse for and tapp in to the acc line.

Like I said I haven't done it in a while and I'm going all by memory so someone please correct me if I'm wrong
Thanks a lot, very helpful! Now I just need step by step on the prosports lol ill have to read the manual and Google it as well. Thanks again !

Filled it up with its most expensive tank to date. Got 415.5 miles on the prior tank. 31.489 mpgs is pretty good for an engine with 91K on it.

Best fuel mileage to date for me was the night I got the car and drove back to Knoxville from Atlanta and got 31mpg... That was me babying it because I was hitting fuel-cut due to boost leak and no exhaust from the cats back driving 70mph the entire time. I got my second best fuel mileage to date last week with about 26mpg with a whole lot of interstate driving. City driving, I'm getting 20 at best. I lost my vacation time when I left my previous company to come to this one, so I'm not going to be driving to SW Florida this May which is when I really wanted to see what kind of mileage I could get. I've improved by 1.5-2mpg since installing the SSAFC.

I've not gotten a paycheck in almost 3 weeks now since switching jobs and it's killing me. My girlfriend spends more of my money than I do. I had to take my change to the Coinstar and got $80 back! I get paid tonight, so that's a plus and maybe I'll order my exhaust finally.

The most awkward time to run into a homeless person is on your way to the coinstar...-Nick Thune

I planned on installing my fuel pump this saturday but got tix to Opening Day in Cincy with the agreement I would watch the baby all day sunday so my wife can relax since i'll be gone all day today.

Dude your car gets terrible mileage. Cruising to fl and back last year I hit 32mpg and was running 80 almost the entire way. The worst mileage my msp has ever seen is maybe 26. And that's with me beating the s*** out of it in the mountains.

That reminds me i need to check yoru car for those fuel magnets and a tornado... my car nevers gets that good of mileage (stock tune)

I said to my girlfriend on the way into the grocery store, "What if theres a homeless guy standing near the entrance as we're walking in and asks me for change? What will I tell him?" LOL

Maybe its traffic and/or your driving style in the city as that is very poor mpg's. Getting 31 during a highway cruise suggest to me that its not your car. If something were wrong it wouldn't get that high.

Driving my car 80+ on the highway I typically average 26+ mpgs. Taking it easy and keeping it under 75 I can achieve mid 30s. My best ever was 34+ @ 70 mph. I use only a flashed pcm.

It's undoubtedly my driving style- boost, boost, boost. I know that for a fact.

Ok that make sense. I had a 1st gen Probe GT boosting 10 & 15 psi and I drove it the same way. I always got 21 mpgs. Gas is a lot higher these days so I am no longer all about the boost.

I usually get anywhere from 375-400 miles a tank avg. (27 mpg or so). This past Saturday and Sunday I took the MSP to the track, 4 20 minute sessions all in 3rd gear obviously always full throttle. I filled up the tank all the way, drove 2 hours to College Station, tracked the car for two days, filled up a quarter tank (~3 gal.) Sunday morning and when I went to fill up for the drive back it was empty and the odometer read 320 miles!
320 miles/~18 gallons= 17.7mpg approximately!

Honestly that isn't bad my buddy with the MS3 has an MPG meter and it hits 7.9-8 mpg when he's racing.

Tonight I test fitted a set of front 2 piston 13 inch terminator cobra, that's right cobra brakes on the car. It clears. Would need a custom bracket and a small spaced for piece of mind. Here's the pics.

I had the same brakes on my 94 Cobra, they are truly amazing brakes and that was on a 3500lb. car. The OEM rotors and calipers were made by Brembo, 13in. vented front and 11.65" (I believe) rear rotors. Honestly that will be overkill, after tracking my MSP 4 times now with stock calipers, ceramic pads and stainless braided lines I have had no issues with brake fade and the car will throw me forward in my seat. The car stops fine I really don't see the necessity for a heavy brake setup like that.
Drive a Mustang GT on track for 20 minutes at 8/10ths and you will experience a car in need of a brake upgrade.

Nice. Now... you just need to tell the right people that and pray they listen to you. Hasn't worked for me yet.

My brother had them on his sho Taurus before he totalled it. He was selling them so I figured is test fit them to see if they fit.

If they're free, they why the hell not? Or you could sell them to someone with a Mustang for a good chunk of change and get the MS6 or CX7/9 setup you want.
