The issues with our trans is NOT the gears per-say, GTX gears will not help our trans from twisting. Only straight cut gears will help. the gears from breaking.Yea the GTX gears are better than stock, but probably not enough if you are going for a relative big build (over 300whp). Though most guys don't go much further than 275-300whp with this car, because of things like this. It might be worth shopping around for custom gears though, just to get an idea.
I believe GTX claimed their gears were 20-30% better than stock, but the more I think about it... are they even made anymore?

I think PAR is the only company that has put thought into doing anything for our transmission.Would there be any benefit at all from changing 3rd and 5th to GTX? I'd love a full set of PAR gears but really I cant afford it. Does anyone have reinforcement cups except PAR?
Well I got my exedy stage 1 clutch and AWR driver and passenger side motor mounts today, I can't wait to put them on the car now!
video of the new boost gauge
Not sure if anybody has told you before, but your voice (in the video at least) reminds me of Red from Pineapple Express:

What about a lightened flywheel? If you haven't already bought one, I highly recommend it. I have an Exedy stage 1 and Fidanza flywheel on my MSP that I had installed with the rear mount and trans mount (driver side). It was a night and day difference. The lighter flywheel is a great improvement over stock and well worth the money. ALSO, be sure to use a Mazda throwout bearing and NOT the Exedy. Mine started making noise about a week after install.
You have a message!I didn't get a lightened flywheel because I don't really have the money for that right now, I will look onto it though, around what's the going price for them? And I will make sure use the Mazda throw out baring to. Thanks for the help!
yea I just looked them up and wish I would of waited and saved up some more and got the whole package but I'm still considering in getting one it just might be a while. and yea if I do stay witht he stock flywheel I was going to go get it resurfaced.Crossover sells just the flywheel for $330. You would get a combo deal if you bought it with the clutch though. I understand about not having the cash, because I was on a really tight budget when I had it done too or else I would have replaced the differential as well. You will need to have your flywheel resurfaced before reinstalling it, which has to be done at a machine shop I believe. I was quoted $60 for that from a local shop that I have connections with, so it could be more.
