What have you done to your MSP today?

had this screw in the tire from last summer season and forgot about it. lost it this last weekend and been trying to figure out how to fix it since. i tried this Green slime which seemed to work and hold pressure in the carport, but after going from a drive, failed. twice..
so before i head to the tire shop and get laughed at, is this too close to the sidewall for some kind of plug? guestimate a 1/8 self tapping screw made this hole.

yup they're gonna tell you its too close, just be persistant and tell them you dont care about their "if it blows up" policy and make them patch/plug it. "patch/plug" a 1 piece mushroom looking patch thing, has a plug with a rubber patch all in one.

Anyone here using GTX gears? Are they really an upgrade and should I even bother getting them? Im taking the tranny apart either way and unfortunately PAR gears are way out of my budget and as far as I know no one really offers gears for that transmission anymore unless its custom.

hopefully it works out. im rolling on winters in the mean time. really dont wanna buy a new tire for a fricken screw. then the other 3 be a different size. though i guess i could just rotate it a bunch to get them close. these tires were 80% new last year when i took them off.

I have a 10" and 12" spal fan and they were $100+ each...I'd be leary of something so cheap especially when it's rated at a higher cfm than a flexalite and spal?? Hell of a deal if they don't die and leave you overheating.

Yea the GTX gears are better than stock, but probably not enough if you are going for a relative big build (over 300whp). Though most guys don't go much further than 275-300whp with this car, because of things like this. It might be worth shopping around for custom gears though, just to get an idea.

I believe GTX claimed their gears were 20-30% better than stock, but the more I think about it... are they even made anymore?

I don't think they are much of an upgrade personally but i'm not a G15M expert.

2 fingers wide(from the sidewall) was Merchants tire policy.

bought a 626 engine today for the other protege im chaining the engine in. 600 bucked shipped. I think thats a pretty good deal, could have gotten better if I waited but im just wanting to get this car running.

As stupid as it sounds I have been wanting another Protege for a DD lately, I really only want a clean, low mileage blue MP3 for cheap.

And I am very happy with my clutch after adjusting the pedal yesterday, it engages fully now when I normally press the clutch and doesn't grind at all while shifting. Seems to help with some of the chatter but that's not going away until I replace the clutch eventually.

I got a blue p5 to dd, wagon = cheaper insurance

So got a quick question. Need to know what wire to tap for my boost gauge so it turns red at night. Like a wire that only gets power when my headlights are on

how and where do you adjust the clutch pedal?
There is a bolt on the firewall with a lock nut, loosen the lock nut (12mm I believe) and tighten the bolt in a few turns, then tighten the lock nut again. Then you adjust the pedal stopper to allow for enough 'free play' in the pedal. I can feel it fully engage before I hit the bottom of the pedal travel.

That's weird I used to drive a P5 and my insurance was within $5 a month difference between the P5 and MSP.
