What have you done to your MSP today?

thats great for them, but not all dealers see it that way, they look at auction value because a lot of dealers would rather not keep certain cars on their lot...
a honda dealer paid 8 for it in july with 68... and turned it around in a week. If I hadn't bought it, they had 2 more buyers ready.

I completely understand that, but 4100, for a 6 year old car with 85K... would have to be in REALLY bad shape. Regardless of what it is.

in the eyes of most dealers when they trade an MSP in, its just a ******* protege, its not anything special to them. So like I said, they're not going to pay more than dealer auction price on it and that sounds pretty close lol

guess i just gotta keep shopping around til I find one that doesn't see it as "just another protege"... given that this dealer sells new speeds, I was kinda assuming they knew the difference...

i plan on getting a new PS belt and sprk plugs at the end of the week what kinda spark plugs would you guys reccommend? my car is stock performance wise.

yea, get the oem ones, they are platinum. I wuldnt bother with the 4 conductor or other crazy ones for what you have. Keep it simple.

get oem ones. cant go wrong if your stock, and you dont have to keep such an eye on them.

WTF is wrong with you? LOL with that mentality we should just shut this site down right now!

so would it be better to just get the platinums and call it a day?

its up to you... just keep an eye on em (literally) and you'll be fine. Also having em out that often (and regapping while you're at it) will give you an indication of rich or lean conditions if you're modding heavily.

Bosche Platnium +4/+2's SUCK in these cars... mine came with +2's... DO NOT USE THEM!

Ive used stock all the cars life till i had to go one step colder, never had a problem. Im not sure what kind they are though otehr than platinum.

and i didnt mean stock everything is good, but the stock platinums arent garbage.

these cars don't particularly like iridiums... not that I can explain why...

I know, i was attempting humor...

you know. i had the WORST luck with iridiums and they are very expensive. I wonder why?

I got the humor on the stock part, i laughed hard, but i wasnt sure if the bosh ones you were saying were sucky were the stock ones or not (+2 +4). I just know they are platinum and work well for me at least.

no, any "standard" configuration gapped spark plug is superior to the bosch multi-electrode gapless style plugs in my book... stock, NGK, platnium, iridium, hell... high carbon steel for all I care! lol
