I coudlnt get the kenwood out of my car fast enough.
Just switching to my Eclipse made a 100% improvement in sound alone. And it actually works. still.
Well if you want my opinion on the stock kenwood, it's a piece of s***. It has problems with the wires not being long enough so they snap after enough use and then it stays down and won't return to normal. Once you get that fixed, if anyone else's is like mine, I'll be flipping stations and it freaks out, goes black (music still playing) and returns about 10 seconds later. Sometimes, it freaks out and flips around to the black side and I can't use it until I start the car again. Top it all off with the fact that the lights on mine (minus the actual display) are all kaput. So at night, it's a good thing I know where the buttons are by feel.
edit: Also, I believe I read somewhere that the HU we got in the MSP's were refabbed stock defects or some s*** like that.
what's wrong with the stock kenwood??
and they make and adapter for the kenwoods, as i bought it for my girlfriends car. it was like 50.00 and had about 5' of wire for the ipod hookup. dunno about the aux ports.

yea the stock unit just ******* sucks
mine felt like all the buttons were soldered in and you had to force a lot of weight on them to push them in...it would act really weird and sometimes not turn around...took me forever to figure out where you push it to make it turn around (either the upper left or upper right corner)...sounds like s***, has the most HORRIBLE menu setup (took me forever to figure out how to get to the audio control options)
just get a pioneer hu or something, I switched to my pioneer hu and I'll never go back to another kenwood unit again...never seen a single single-din kenwood hu I liked
