What have you done to your MSP today?

im thinking about getting some 16x8 fd rims hmmmmmm
Have fun fitting those. I wanted to do that at one point as well but after reading xelderx's thread about them it's just plain too much work for a set of wheels. I'd rather just be able to buy the wheels, put some tires on them and then install and everything be good.

why all i would have to do is throw a 5mm spacer on front and a 3mm on the rear. i might not even have to space the front at all. ive been lookin it up most of the morning

<- P5 owner. I have less clearance in the rear than you guys do. According to xelderx I would need a completely new suspension setup.

At least with a new suspension comes more fun :D

My new brakes are finally in place and working great! Finally no more "shake it up!"

Now you need to get a Front mount kit that comes with a BOV. Then you will really like your car. And downpipe if you don't already got one.

Yeah, I think I will replace the stock BPV with the anodized Forge BPV to quiet the turkey a bit and if it doesnt do that it will at least replace the bad one mazda put on there. After that I will probably do the downpipe. I cannot beleive the difference the intake is making already. To be honest the turkey actually sounds kind of neat, kinda like call of the MSP, lol. I have a really noob question but I am trying to learn my way around the engine bay for the first time since I have a car worth looking at, is there any diagrams of the engine components? Mainly where is the throttle?

back of the engine bay follow the black plastic cold pipe (the pipe comming form the bottom of the sidemount intercooler) at the end of that pipe will be the throttle body

thanks, someone needs to post a thread with multiple pics of the bay with labels, lol

lol well ppl that buy cars like this are expected to have at least some general automotive knowelge =P. Do what i did live on the forums for a couple months just read and soak it all up. Thats what i did lol

How's she sound?

regualr driving - a little louder than stock
wot- real nice low growl

im very happy with this setup, car definately pulls harder, and the canister/tip looks great with the 03.5 rear lip

I know, I never realized how much there was that you can do, I usually go to the forum everyday periodically throughout the day, I love the forum because when I am bored in class it gives me something to do, lol. That is true about gaining knowledge by reading about the car here, I now know how a turbo works, how an intake works, what fuel cut is etc. I thought I was Mr. Goodwrench because I watch horsepower tv and the speed channel all the time, lol. Thanks for the help.

some people like it it some people don't like the turkey. I personally don't have much turkey at all now, but I don't want it either. My friends however seem to enjoy the noises my car makes. GReddy type S or turbo XS RFL are the best sounding BOV's on this car.

Trust me if your keeping the car for awhile you already have the intake, get the front mount kit comes with a BOV that you can make a bpv if you have to. Or atleast get one of those side mount intercoolers but front mount is better with all the hard piping and it's all chrome. Unleashes the top end alotttt more. Plus adds a little boost by itself. MSP suffers from heatsoak, the car gets slower the more you drive it.

Do that along with a dp and you will have a nice msp.

The main thing I am worried about is the compressor surge, since it is true the sound has been there all along but I hear it now becaus of the aluminum intake pipes does that mean this car has suffered compressor surge all along? My main problem is cash, i do not have enought for the intercoolers, but in the meantime I may do the dual set up or just upgrade the BPV, maybe that will help until I get more money for the intercooler and downpipe. For the DP and SMIC (cops in MD hassle people with FMIC because of having to change the front air dam) is there a certain company that makes affordable quality ones.
