What have you done to your MSP today?

After grappling with the damn ABS wire, I finally got the bleepin' thing all connected again. I had no soldering gun, no solder, nothing -- I had to strip the wires with a pair of scissors and try to splice 'em together with nothing but electrical tape and LOTS of curses.

It worked .. sort of. The ABS light goes off and on. But at least now I know that it's just that wire that's the problem, and I can get it fixed properly once I get the tools I need.

P.S. After a month of driving without ABS, I forgot how much I hate not even being able to turn and brake simultaneously at a stop sign without it engaging. Soooooo annoying.

if you dont wanna mess with the solder i suggest trying heat shrink crimp connectors to seal any moisture or anything else you might get in there

Don't you guys kind of miss abs in the snow and in rain situations???

I mean, i don't like feeling the pedal modulation either, but I rather have it than not.

Installed a new boost gauge, egt gauge, rewired a bunch of things and repositioned my air/fuel gauge thats soon to be replaced with a wideband. I will try and get pics up later.

Snow?? havent seen that in over three years now. And as far as rain we havent got much of that either considering its projected we will run out of water sometime in january. But no i dont miss ABS in the rain it locks up too soon so i essentially have better braking without it

My ABS has only been non-functional for a month .. and, whelp, no snow here in September. :)

In the rain, without the ABS, the car has been fine. I haven't slid the slightest bit even once -- but then again, I know to drive more conservatively on wet pavement.

ABS light hasn't come on yet today, and I've noticed that the ABS itself hasn't engaged half as much as it did yesterday. I wonder if the system had to 'readjust' itself or something.

wrong thread to ask technical questions but the subject is right..

what if i install a switch instead of the fuse and put an "in line" type fuse.. so i could switch off the ABS when i wanted to ??

anybody see a problem in doing that? like maybe a check engine light will come on and stay ? just asking..

your ABS light would come on if you disabled the sensors...why would you want to turn off your ABS? i can understand if you were turning a traction control system off or something, but why ABS? ABS is only good in my opinion.

today i reinstalled my greddy type s bov. but before doing so i took it apart and took out the stronger of the two springs. at the loosest setting it blows off as soon as i go above 1/4 throttle haha(yupnope) ill swap springs and see what kind of results i get.

Like poo.. lol

Gotta take it back tomorrow.. Cluster lights are dim on the edges and there is no 3rd gear..
