What have you done to your MSP today?

Alrighty.....

In other news looks like ill be getting my old apexi 3 inch exhaust back. Gonna clean it up real nice and weld up a hole or two. Also gonna get actual gaskets this time lol hopefully no leaks

That's so old school... Go with a sweet dual exhaust set up if you want real performance...

What if you had two smaller turbos that only used two cylinders?! huh?! Then routed it all the way back? So, two turbos being driven by only two cylinders of exhaust flow connected to exhaust piping! Yeah! So... uh... uh... TAKE THAT!

I think the turbos would have to be smaller than the stock, or you could just do the bi-turbo set-up mazda is going to use on the skyactiv-d engines, one small & one big.

decided to go back to stock. Gonna keep the parts until I can go forged or sell/trade the car which won't be anytime soon.

Well, what about 4 RHB31s?!

But on a serious note... What's a good range on AFRs under boost? 11-11.5? What's optimal?

12.0 is optimal power 11-11.5 is safe. i tuned to 11.5. Depends on your setup too (wheather you can control timing, what kinda compression, power goals, etc etc)

Well Mazda has done it to many of their cars.... Mazdspeed3/ mazda 3 hatch, mazda 6.... cx7.... so its not that pointless... and it would help with air flow going out as well... maybe just hasnt been tryed with an MSP yet... might sound decent....
What you have is just about all I am looking for exhaust wise, should be plenty loud. A DP and larger midpipe is all I want for the exhaust, don't like the way most catbacks sound.
Mazda doesn't actually install a true dual exhaust, even with the V6 cars the headers joined into a single pipe. They just stick a Y pipe on the exhaust and make it look like a dual setup. It's for aesthetics, not performance.
So I guess if you want it louder save for a cat back.

Its been done, its pointless, and at the risk of being as big of an asshole as the rest of the people posting on the last 3 pages, it looks stupid. Just do a single exhaust pipe. If you have to do something with the exhaust that isn't conventional, put an electric cutout on it in the midpipe area. Not sure why that isn't more popular on this platform. I'll be putting them on mine... going with DMH as they're basically the only company that backs their stuff with a warranty.

Hands down the best cutout. I have had mine on my MSP about 5 years and it always worked.

Run a cutout but put piping and another muffler on the cutout so you have a dual exhaust when you want it.

dual won't look right because the rear lip only has one arch for an exhaust tip

I would stack the tips, like half of a Lexus ISF. Maybe a couple extra cutouts so I can have dual side exit exhaust as well. Get rid of that HP killing backpressure.
