What have you done to your MS3 today?

Rear motor mount is absurdly easy, unfortunately can't speak for the tranny.

Looks good blackmagik, did you coat the cover? or just everything inside

I'll +1 these. The HL's do look good... better than OE.

Depending upon the mount you choose, you may have to remove the 3, 21mm bolts that hold the mount bracket on. One of mine had so much loc-tite on it from the factory that part of the threads came out with it (the top bolt, of course,) but its OK.
The tranny mount is a bit more of a to-do from what I understand, but it shouldn't be necessary to take it to a mechanic, unless you are the non-mechanical type. A floor jack is a must though.

Thanks guys for for the info my baby only has 23000miles on her and I still don't understand how both the mounts went at the same time lol

The factory mounts while comfortable are a bit weak... a known issue. I had one mount go bad and I don't have a 263hp Speed, but a regular 160hp N/A 3. Careful which mount(s) you choose or you could find yourself with a serious vibration problem, made worse by the A/C compressor.
I'm on my second AM tranny mount. Currently, I'm running the James Barone Racing "Billet" rear and while I still have some vibration, its much better than the AWR I was running before.

Ugh.....i am in dire need of a new mod. I was doing a 3rd to (and including) 4th gear wot coming onto the highway this afternoon and i just didnt feel as "enthused" as i used to

Perhaps a dp, or maybe a dp/tp combo.

In any case, i probably wont [be allowed to] get anything else for the car... save gas, oil and filters.

But trust me, miss petunia-b**** will probably get her precious patio furniture set before i can buy a simple screwdriver for the car, let alone a performance product

In a word... OUCH!!
Pretty harsh there, Oak.

If it makes you feel any better, my wife doesn't understand either. It has taken me 7 yrs to get to where I am today w/the car. But I have to admit that some of what she says makes sense. The car... 10-12yrs at best. The house... 30yrs or more.
Sometimes its best just to look at it from a practical sense.

I was looking at the tZR
Mounts I found on protegegarage.com

I don't have personal experience w/that mount, but I have read and do know that those dogbone mounts tend to create a lot of vibration. They don't have much surface area in them (small bushings) to absorb the vibration of the engine.
If it's less vibration you want, go w/a bigger mount, one with a larger bushing installed in it and fewer durometers. The greater the surface area, the less vibration... durometer specs being equal, of course.

I have the Medieval transmission mount. t's a 2 piece deal that also replaces the stock cast part that bolts to the transmission. This make it a little more difficult than the TRZ looks. TRZ basically is a rethought version of the stock mount where the bolt is pointing down through the bushing. The medieval mount has the bushing rotated 90degrees so the bolt is horizontal.

I bet the TRZ mount is wicked easy to install. I would think it's a matter of supporting the transmission from the bottom, removing the bolt and the old top part of the mount with the old bushing, bolting in the TRZ and replacing the bolt. Getting to the whole thing will probably take you 30 minutes and the whole job should be able 90 minutes if you take it easy.

day late, but a true story except for the poop.
Changed my badly fouled plugs yesterday. Which some of you know takes awhile removing tmic and such. about 90 outside so it was bit of a b**** this time.
70k 4th plug change.
So i decided to give her a drive and get some ice cream. took it easy and just listened to the purring kitten firing as God intended again. very nice.
on the way home i decided to let the 21 lbs do it's thing in 4th. that comes on about 5800. And BOOM! i do mean boom!
I pooped then pushed in clutch and checked the mirror for debris and fluids, then headed to shoulder. I noticed the car was still running as i came out of shock and gave it a little gas still looking in mirror for the rods. Put the flashers on and started to pray. I have blown motors before but its been many many years. i limped off the highway and got the hood open and found what i was hoping for. I popped the intake side boost tube off. The ice cream survived with help from an anonymous stranger who had a some tools in his garage and a freezer.
Actually i did poop a little, but its embarassing for a 50 year old man to admit.
My son and i took the car for a long country drive today and again hit boost targets, all is well.
I can only take so much excitement at my age you know. And that was about my limit, so i had a nap.
best wishes folks

haha... i like the part where you took a nap. but glad you are all in one piece.

prepped mine for the track today. headed to thunderhill on wednesday. woot!

so im the type of guy that loves to tinker with things, so this past week i decided just for S&G's to make a CO2 spray kit for my ETS TMIC. looking at the cost of the professional kits i aimed to build mine for around $100. well today i finished it installed it and gave it a quick test as another nasty thunderstorm is rolling my way. at any rate im very happy with the build and looking forward to seeing some results on my dashhawk. my ending price for the complete build. used 24 oz paint ball tank filled $23. used paintball tank connector with 3000psi hose and one/off valve $19. misc brass fittings $13. 15ft of 300 psi hose $8. 6 ft of 1/4" od alum hose (had to drill holes) for intercooler sprayer $6. DEI CO2 solenoid off of ebay $40. misc wires/connectors and zip ties and switch a couple more bucks but i already had all of that stuff. so all in all i came in just a hair over $100 and it works perfectly with everything hidden from view other than the TMIC sprayer under the hood. spent about 4 hours building/testing/installing. fun little project just for something to do, will post up some results once i get some info.

got my mugen style window visors and carbon fiber b-pillar kit (to match my carbon fiber mirror covers) and got them installed today. The combo looks so sweet, very very happy with how it turned out. Sunday, I will be dropping off my wheels with the new owner, and will then be ordering the new wheels next week!
