Haha I was at my parents house during the install and grabbed the first dvd i could find to test. It was the remake of Dukes of Hazzard but the opening credits show the old school version tv show on dvd
I have tint, but it didnt work, since it was so hot I had the windows rolled down and the doors open to get any little breeze that I was able to get!
I really like how the entire car/dash STOCK is and comes together. I like that everything matches and lights up red, I just didn't want to mess that up. BUT when I was at Best Buy last week they had no interest for 2 years on the Best Buy card, which I have, if you spend over $1000 combined on a single calculated purchase. So I said **** it I wanted to do the same thing "later on" like you said but I couldn't pass up the no interest.
Bought the deck, dash kit, harness, amp, sub, box, all wiring, and a navigation unit for my wife who is absolutely terrible and gets lost all the time
This unit is really nice and a great deal, nothing too fancy.Install was VERY easy! You pull off the plastic long thing on the dash, take out 2 screws and the deck comes right out, just unplug the back harnesses. Wiring is easy if you get those direct tapping harnesses which I installed indoors with the AC on
The dash kit is a Metra and fits perfectly! It comes with black retainers to retain the top LCD display if you wish but if you don't want to keep it (lord knows why not) it comes with a black plastic pocket that you can attatch to store things in place of the lcd screen. But i didn't use that.Anyways, I would recommend this. I was going to put it off but took advantage of the no interest. Install time for the DECK ALONE was less than an hour, but since i was wiring everything else as I mentioned earlier, i spent about 2-3 hours out in the hot ass sun(nailbyt)

I was going to chime in on that too, Bakersfield is HOT. I was out in the Antelope Valley a few weeks ago coming back from vegas and it was like 113 outside. Sucks right now to be in CA with the hot temps.
Its all us MS3 running RICH and ******* up the ozone causing all that global warming
We need to stay off the roads guys (no)I was thinking about in dash, but I didn't wanna give up my steering wheel controls for movies that I could never watch cause I'd be driving
My main reason I did this is because all I really use is my IPOD and the aux thing in the center console was giving me crappy quality sound and kept cutting out on the speakers on the driver side, it's like the thing wasn't regestering at times. I wanted better sound quality and direct connection to the ipod so i could control the Ipod/songs with the deck. One thing I hate about the stock cd player is that it only has basic controls like bass/treble and thats it, NO mid adjustment or frequency signal/output for each either, plus the stock output on the sport isn't that much. Speakers now sound much cleaner and I get much better sound quality out of the direct ipod connection.
If you want to retain the steering wheel controls you can buy an adapter, it's like $50 that allows that to be connected so you can still use those.
Another cool thing about this deck is that you can customize the background and the screen to match the interior color of the stock dashboard lights! So my screen lights up red and so do the buttons so everything matchs with the rest of the dash at night. looks stock almost haha

SO the financing is nice to give me 2 years to pay like $50/month. I would have wanted to do it anyways at some point so I figured **** it since it was a deal at the time.
I HATE BEST BUY! I used to work there too. The peoiple are always very rude and ignorant. They didn't treat me very well when I worked theer (2 1/2 years) nor did they to other employees. Only good thing I stayed around for was the sweet discount on everything. I only did it because of the no interest. As most people with these cars drop all this crazy cashload all at once it's tough. I'd rather have some time to pay it off.

I installed my MAZDASPEED hood stripes today! Now I just have to wait for the bubbles to go away.
2-1/2 YEARS!!! I couldn't stand the place and WALKED OUT after 5 weeks!!! This was back in the mid-'90's.
I do my best not to throw ANY business to Worst Buy.
From my own experience, they do treat their people like sh*t, and instead of giving them good training, wait for them to f*uck up and then yell at them for it. I can't tell you how many unanswered questions I had asked only to be chastised when I did something wrong. **** Best Buy and the Chinese trawler they rode in on too.
No... It'll be a long f*ckin' time before I give them any of my hard earned money. Sorry. Read that post and could not resist.
