What have you done to your Miata today?

I'm going to have to tear down the suspension before our next event and add some form of bump stop in the rear. Previously, the tires would hit the fenders before the suspension bottomed or before the chassis hit the ground. We bottomed the rear of the chassis on every one of our runs yesterday, so I'd like to nip that in the bud before I crack the tub, so I'm going to go ahead and take some measurements with the springs removed so I can run the suspension through its range of motion and see where we stand.

Awesome! Does that mean I get to be "Illest" too!?

(jerkit)

On a more serious note, the suspension's back in pieces so I can fix this *problem* (see what I did there?). I took measurements of what I needed in the way of bump-stops last night and placed my order this morning. With any luck, I'll have them before this weekend to throw on the car :)

Today was a Miata day. Changed fluids (oil, trans and diff). Flushed/bled the brakes, first time using my new pressure bleeder. It didn't quite work as advertised so I'll have to see if my procedure was off. Finally, I raised her up 13mm. While under the car I discovered what has been scraping wasn't the fender liner, but the frame rails (so all you slammed adherents can kiss off). I had to run out so didn't get definitive measurements hub to fender, but it looks like I actually gained close to an inch (25mm for those so inclined). Not sure why the difference between the shock amount and that, I could see it if the car had a setup similar to a motorcycle (where you get a greater increase at the wheel from shock adjustment) but I don't see that being the case here.

I also found out whoever changed the oil last barely put the filter on. Glad I took care of that before it blew off on a high rev run.

foglights relocated and new HID kit installed

Holy mother i can see again!!

and i'm going to be retrofitting Mini Bixenons into the Hella 90mm's so i'll have a low beam projector that's like 10 times better than the current low beam

get Hella e-codes if you're gonna keep the pop-ups.

Mine aren't OEM fogs, they're the same blazers i had/have on the Protege5s

I figured some retrofitting was gonna be going on so I just did the clear lens with hid kit to look good in the meantime, but it doesn't seem as if matt is coming up with any solutions so I guess I'll have to start tampering with it myself.

I know foo! I know you wouldn't use the stocks, but thats what I mean't by "them fogs" lol

ah, kk. lol

Did you try getting those clear lights apart?

It looked like the guy on CR was able to put FX-R's in his, but they rubbed the headlight cover, but since you're baller, you could always get the vented ones so you have that TINY bit more space he needed for his

OR, try with the mini bixenons matt uses, which I THINK are smaller. HIDplanet has all the projector diminsions, i'm just too lazy to look it up right now

Yeah, that guy george. Hes a local but he hasn't been out since he did his lights :/

I've been too swept up with other mods at the moment but I'm defiantly gonna do SOMETHING.. my gf is gonna get the baller flushmount kit(lexan glass n all) once she picks up her miata, if I end up liking them more in person, I might just get some and retro those haha.
