What have you done to your Miata today?

Do you have similar pads front and rear?

All I know is that the rear pads have the cooling slit in the middle and the fronts don't AFAIK. They came on the car when I bought it, so I have no idea what they are.

NA's 99.9999% of the time will lock the front tires up WAY before the rears. Maybe get someone outside in a controlled environment to check. Locking up the front will make things feel squirrely, and if you don't know exactly what you're feeling I can see how it can be misconstrued.

Okay, I'll have to do that at some point. It stops night and day better than it did before, so I doubt I'll have to get to the border line of locking them up unless something happens right in front of me. I guess it kinda feels like a snake slithering back and forth when it stops, you know how it feels if you get on the brakes super hard from like 70 or 80? The front kinda weaves (probably not normal with good quality stuff, lol)? I think it does that, but the back seems to want to come around a bit. I'll have to play with it more to get a more accurate description, but I'm really happy for now.

Sounds like the weight is just coming off of the rear and you feel it more. The MSM does that to me now and then.

Yeah, nose dive is beyond horrible.. Feels like the front bumper is about to start plowing asphalt on a hard stop.. But I guess it's cool to pretend like it's got a lot of power when it squats under load, lol. (rolleyes)

My Miata got a new radio today!

Pioneer MVH-P8200 with Sirius satellite radio and Pioneer door speakers. Awesome improvement, although I will see the pretty 3" full color display on my new radio is distracting from the road.

I finally hooked up my manual oil gauged and checked the oil pressure today. At cold idle it was 50psi. At warm idle, it was 20 psi, and at 3k rpms it was 46psi. According to the manual that came with the gauge, 47-57psi is acceptable at 3k rpms. So that's good enough for me. The stock gauge was only reading 30psi or lower at 3krpms, and between 0-10psi at warm idle. The pressure sending unit was so covered in oil and gunk I can't believe it could send any kind of accurate readings, the little metal tab was covered, too. I'll see if some dielectric grease clears that up. I'm not holding my breath, though.

I found out today after "record breaking rain fall, some places receiving 3 months worth of rain in a single day" that my Miata has two leaks in the soft-top. There is standing water in the floor pans and nothing I can do about it until the rain lets up... x.x

Well, under the carpet but it sounds like you're going to want that out regardless at this point.

You can see the 2 "circles" on the right hand side of the pic. They're basically mirrored on the driver's side as well. There's a rubber plug in each hole. You can just pop it out (I can't remember if it's through the top or bottom) and drain the water that way. Save yourself a bunch of time, rust and heartache

Thanks. Now I know what I'm going this weekend.

Drove it home from the airport after a week away. Found out the wife drove it some while I was gone (despite saying she prefers her 8, when asked why she said it was a nice day. Guess she's a convert). Opened my boxes of parts that arrived while I was out and replaced the chrome gas door with a stock painted one.
