What have you done to your Miata today?

Installed a catch can today from Signature Sound. This is a real quality piece.

Any close up pics?

And I agree with the others your engine bay is clean! very clean!

Figured out the problem with my car... a previous owner had welded patches over all of the frame rail and drain tube holes. I drilled some holes in the frame rails and had water pouring out. I didn't hear any sloshing because they were entirely full! Looks like it'll need some professional bodywork over the winter.

Installed the cargo net. This thing is pretty small and just hangs from two hooks mounted at the front of the trunk. Still it will keep small items from knocking around. Also checked around underneath and found out I have braided stainless brake lines (they aren't coated though so will have to be sure they aren't near anything). On Saturday I measured my wheel clearances to find the front is under 12" (wheel hub to fender lip) and the rear is about 12.5". I'll be changing that this week along with all fluids.

I like to drive my car without beating the s*** out of it, or having handling issues. So it will not be slammed. Function over form (although I believe slamming a car is retarded in any case).

lol i knew you would say that :p

so where are the pics of this thing?? ive seen 2. lol.

and something ive been wondering is what cars get the garage?

Yeah, it isn't too hard to figure out my position on things.

Right now the 8 and Miata are in the garage (I like leaving the top down so I can get in and go). The 7 is in a storage unit so the poor Speed6 sits out. That might change, the Miata won't get driven over the winter while I am gone so I might put it outside with a cover over.

Friggin epic day autocrossing. The miata is fast as ffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu and the course was even faster. Start > 1st > 2nd > 3rd... and didn't even come close to needing to downshift until just before the finish. Ho. Ly. Balls. In terms of speed return on investment of time, effort and $$ spent, this thing is just bonkers
(rockon)

Top 2 fendered car times of day? You know, I'll take that :D

Damn it this thing's fun. I can't even imagine what another 50 whp is going to do to it 0.o

Found out that the "leak" in my car was from a previous owner WELDING SHUT ALL OF THE FRAME RAIL DRAINS and apparently the drains for the soft-top tubes as well. I had to drill new drain holes in each frame rail, I didn't hear any sloshing typical of those drains being clogged because the rails were entirely full. It looks like I'm going to need some professional bodywork done to fix the rockers.
