What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

LOL at Taylor popping up at the mention of Plasti-dip.

Plasti-Dip............. (peep)........

Is Taylor here yet?....

(toetap)................. Come on!!....

.....................................Well Ok, I guess ill amuse myself till he gets here.(couch)

So Taylor, did you Plasti-Dip your chrome exhaust surrounds or paint them or what? I notice that they are black in those pics?

FINALLY had my car returned to me this morning, runs nice with the new motor!

had some issues when i went to trade it in though... they didnt lowball me with a terrible offer, the sales manager just flat out said they dont want my car on the lot and wouldnt take it on trade for a new jeep!

so off i went to the next dealership and spoke to the owner, who i'm close friends with some of his family members, and he knows my father, explained that i'd like to purchase a new jeep today and that the other dealer wouldnt deal with me... we've worked out some numbers and have to wait on approval from my bank

Should hold out on the jeep anyways. New engines and trannys coming with a refresh in a year or two.

It looks good, ZFZ. And your car looks nice and clean too, even the exhaust surrounds are nice and shiny.

I have to redo my nightshaded badges, I didn't put enough clear over when I did them last year and they're covered in chips and peeling sections after the winter. I'd be interested to see how the plasti-dip holds up over a year or so, keep us posted!
FWIW I have had my front and rear emblems pasti-dipped for about 5 months now. And they have held up great so far!

Been thinking bout removing the badge's from the rear. Cars goin to the body shop next week. Anybody got pics of a buck naked speed 6 hinney.

Quickey photo shop...

Its not the greatest, but it gives you a idea. photoshop no emblem resize.webp

It looks less noticeable if you dont enlarge the pic, otherwise the logoless (lol is that a word) area is distracting

haha I used high temp paint on those. Regular paint couldnt take the heat from the exhaust. I dont think plasti dip would handle that heat.

I had mine badgeless for a while, the problem is the emblem leaves 2 holes you would need to fill and paint, etc. Now I put everything back on but the 6 and I like it this way. Here's a quick recap of how it turned out when I first did it. I'll redo this summer.

Getting an oil change today......need to clean the MS6 BADDDDD. Got married on June 11th and the maid of honor glitter bombed my car. It didn't hurt the body, but when I opened the door it was like a scene from the movie Backdraft. All of the glitter got sucked into the car and now it's just all over. I'm really enjoying the car after taking a 2 week honeymoon (France, Germany & Netherlands) and not having driven it!

Thanks for the photoshop. Much appreciation.

I really like it. Now that i've seen it. I'm having it done at a body shop so any holes will be filled. The whole trunk lid will be sprayed and the bumber replaced. I got rear ended a few weeks ago. Not me, the car(lol).

Did a search, couldn't find anything. So I have had a slow leak in the right rear tire, and decided to pick up a plug at the store for temporary use. Jacked up the car, and noticed the inside of the tire is gone...down to the wire and starting to separate. And that's not even where the leak is. I don't have a tread depth gauge, but can guestimate I have till mid fall left on the tread. I can't remember for the life of me, if it's not recommended to just buy one tire and leave the rest where they are due to drivetrain problems.... Someone refresh my memory? I need to get some adjustable ball joints on this thing.....

Correct, you need to replace all 4 on a AWD vehicle, otherwise your diff will be damaged/destroyed.

A good makeshift depth gauge is a penny, put it in the tread upside down, if the very top of Abe's head is visible, you need new tires.

Since I dont have the 6 anymore here is what I did to the vette yesterday. :D

Nice, Taylor!

Congrats, dude. I had a similar situation with glitter from Christmas gifts and wrapping and stuff. Some of it still won't come out of the carpet fibres, and a few are stuck in the perforations in the seats. Glitter is tough to get.

Yep, as above you should replace all 4. My car chewed through tires like crazy until I got the SPCs and had a proper alignment done (note: by "proper" I do NOT mean to Mazda spec). After the install and alignment it felt so much better, and I'm getting even tread wear. Double win.
