Dave, have you tried calling Mazda USA and sharing your appreciation for the lemon you got? After I went through a similar situation with my MS Protege regarding the sound system (they wanted me to deal directly with Kenwood after I had every possible component fail and replaced under warranty on that POS system), I unleshed my fury on Mazda Canada. I started by crafting a nice letter, which triggered a call from them (poor guy on the phone...), and they decided to replace the whole thing, parts and labor, for free. My point is, screw the dealeship monkeys, they are useless some times (particulary with turbo cars, I had to do the troubleshooting for them on my MSP or else the car would sit there forever). Go to their corporate office and complain. You will make things move much faster (plus you`ll probably get a new engine in there) and you will feel gooooooooood!
