3 full business days in their possesion..... anybody interested in starting a pool and placing bets as to when i get it back? i'd like to have it back and take possesion of my new rig by the end of the month

if you read back through my last 3.5week ordeal there was no loaner there... but this time its not gonna be that way....

I vote 29 days they say it is ready and you pick it up. You drive it off the lot and lose all oil pressure because they forgot to tighten an essential bolt. That is my vote for the pool. What do I get if I win? We know what Dave gets.

with an answer like that i'll award you $1000 because i'll be ******* rolling in money after that lawsuit

Let me see... based on past history at that dealer, I vote that it sits on the lot another few days, then you get another random (mostly guessed) diagnosis next week, then you have a 2 week wait while they order parts, leaving your car in the lot unlocked, and then sometime in week 4 when you call them - because they won't call you - they will tell you "oh, it's ready to be picked up". And then as you drive off the dealer's lot the transmission will fall out. :(

it only has to make it 4km to the other side of the city in order to get to the dodge dealership.... then it their problem!

Got 33 mpg on this last tank. The most I have ever gotten.. 91 octane no less. I don't know what Arkansas puts in there gas, but it's awesome! Dave, your situation TOTALLY sucks. Hopefully something gets resolved in a timely manner.

About the cabin air filter...I couldn't find the right one, so I grabbed the Fram CF10285 and that seemed to fit. I'll switch to the NAPA one next time around probably, or look for a better option (I'm not really big on Fram filters).

Dave, I hope you're documenting everything and sending a nice letter to Mazda about your ordeal. The dealership has definitely made things worse for you, and there is no telling how much they have contributed to the problems your car is having.

Dave, are you going to go with the Jeep for sure? It's a sad situation, but after all you've been through, I wouldn't trust that car to hang together for the long haul, no matter what the dealer does, or how nice it may drive when it comes back this time.

im pretty set on getting the jeep, its the most universal vehicle i can buy (i realized paying 5-600/month for an S2000 or corvette is just retarded considering i'd only get 4-5 months of driving in a year)

however getting the jeep in my budget will rely on getting the car back in trade-in condition before all current promo's end on the 2011 jeeps

they did call me first thing this morning to tell me the claim is still in a pending status, and that he was checking the availablilty of engines and there arent any around... so god know where they'll be able to find one, with the whole japan incident parts are hard to find (they had to get the flywheel in from somewhere in the states)

Dave, have you tried calling Mazda USA and sharing your appreciation for the lemon you got? After I went through a similar situation with my MS Protege regarding the sound system (they wanted me to deal directly with Kenwood after I had every possible component fail and replaced under warranty on that POS system), I unleshed my fury on Mazda Canada. I started by crafting a nice letter, which triggered a call from them (poor guy on the phone...), and they decided to replace the whole thing, parts and labor, for free. My point is, screw the dealeship monkeys, they are useless some times (particulary with turbo cars, I had to do the troubleshooting for them on my MSP or else the car would sit there forever). Go to their corporate office and complain. You will make things move much faster (plus you`ll probably get a new engine in there) and you will feel gooooooooood!

i'll probably end up giving mazda canada a call in the next day or two, he said they should have word by friday, being in the customer service industry myself i'm inclined to give them a bit of time to honor their word

theres no doubt that there will be a new motor in the car... being under warranty if they tried to put a used motor in there'd be trouble
