I'm wondering if anyone has pictures of there fuel pump install, I have walbro 255 and the install kit. I would appreciate any input or pictures.

so easy to install!!!

everything can be done wihtout rmeoving the tank.

take off the back seat cushion
remove the metal plate with wires in it
unplug then fuel pump
attempt to start the car and release pressure
open the gas tank cap where you fill the gas
remove the two hoses
remove the screws
i believe the is a ring, being carefull, hammer it is outh a flat head screw drive
take out the fuel pump
disassemble it
swap it
assembly is backwards
go enjoy ;)

I've never quite understood why people install higher flowing fuel pumps on our cars.. we already run pig rich from the factory so isn't a higher flowing pump going to add even more fuel and be counterproductive??

Actually, the fuel will not change.. There is a Fuel Pressure regulator, so you will not make it more rich...

It increases the volume that the fuel system can deliver..

IE.

I am installing 1000cc Injectors, I need more fuel than the OEM pump can produce... I have upgraded my Fuel Pump...

I don't know why anyone else would need this, but it is a common mod that sounds cool on a Mod List.

not everyone on this site, is still running stock.
however i do not know about the OP

there are quite a few people that either need/ or have plans to need more fuel.

now idk what the stock pump is rated at. but after putting 3 grand into my motor,
i would much rather have the insite that i have a good pump flowing if i need the extra.

Most people upgrade the pump because it's under $100 and it's insurance. Many don't need it but you can't say it's a bad idea.

The stock pump is good for 300WHP after that it begin to lean.Test on dyno with a megasquirt with 565cc sti injectors ,injects in batch and boosting with a gt2871r.The stock pump handle more power that the tranny can handle maybe it's the reason why not many people upgrade for the walbro.

I am working on a running lean issue P0171 changed my bank 1 sensor that did not fix the problem. We saw it might be leaking from the lower intake so we are changing the lwr and upr gaskets OEM ones and I ordered a intake boot since the one on the car has been wrapped with electrical tape and i dont like ghetto mechanics that are not right. And if that does not fix it then we are looking towards the fuel pump if that be the issue. I might be looking for a walbro. I hope the intake gaskets/boot fix it. At least I can say I that even though I am changing things to try to fix the problem I am putting new parts.

I would just replace the intake tube before you pull and replace the IM gaskets (which is a b**** to do). My P5 had a cracked plastic intake tube and it threw the same code until I replaced it.

If your injectors and FPR are stock it shouldn't run any richer

unforunately for me it is leaking from the intake itself...checked the intake boot and no leaks.
