for those of you with vented or cowl hoods what do you do when you wash your car? or even when it rains hard and the car is sitting outside?

When I had my vis evo hood. I bought it used and didn't have the rain guards that originally came with it. When I would wash my car, I would pop the hood and throw a towel over the engine and mani (whatever would get wet) and was the car, but lightly spray around the vents to get the least water in the engine compartment. When driving and it started to rain, I couldn't do nothing, just see the steam rising from the cold rain drops hitting my motor and exhaust mani.

I got rid of it cause the paint didn't match my car 100 % and it rusted all my mani bolts and numerous other things.

let everything get wet. it is really cool when i was my car after driving since the water hits my turbo and steams. when it rains my motor gets wet. thats about it!

what bout the battery n stuff it doesnt hit that? i also have hid ballasts drilled to the chassis thats what i really dont want to get wet

hey. I have the gemini RC hood. It rains alot in vancouver. (when it's not summer) usually the car is garage parked at home. It came with a rain guard/vent cover, but i think i've used it a total of once. Otherwise, just the way it's made with a little groove near the center...helps it drain away from the filter.

Washing the car, i just wash as is. it hasn't been a problem.
