ABout that power steering pump, u will need to run fluid thru it to keep it rom seizing up as well. Just letting it run witout fluid to lubricate it will work for awhile but it will eventually seize up. Its as simple as just running a hose from the pump to the reservoir to back to the pump.

theres plenty of room for boost, pics of my friends turbo setup on his boosted KL...:), it looks differnt now these pics are form last summer. i need to get more pics of it, now hes running a KLDE bottom end with ZE heads/manifold @7psi.

im not sure. it could....but your really way out there. you dont have the mx3 to tie you in and you dont have a FSDE to make you part of the group either, but i figure if you can put a BP in a 2nd gen then you can put a kl in there (dunno)

Someone put a KL-ZE into a 3rd gen several years ago. It's really not all too complicated. The only draw-back is it's OBD-I..And if you have emissions...

i thought 3rd gens were 99+.. 7 years ago plops us in 98

any info on that guy with the ze 3rd gen? or is he part of this forum?
santos just throw a bp or a bp-t in there and you'll be all good:D
anything is better than the 1.5 lol

The Mazda 929 1" bore master cylinder fits, but it'll reduce clearance to the elbow more, I'm guessing, since it even makes it difficult to fit a CAI there on the FS.

The MX3 booster would probably just reduce the amount of vac assist, so the pedal would probably feel a little harder to press to get the same braking out of it, but it might be worth it, anyway. Since you're considering the Tilton three pedal assembly, ANY assist would be more than you have with the Tilton setup, despite not being as cool. ;) Then again, the 1" bore cylinder is the same deal, but man, it makes that pedal ROCK hard, which is awesome. =) You really feel everything through the brakes after that.
I really want a direct feel, it's a race car after all! Almost nobody can drive my car as it is right now! lol

This thread is getting more interesting by the minute. Is there a time table for when this all will be finished?
I expect to have everything finish and perfectly running before the Canadian National Solosprint at Shannonville, Ontario, on september 9-10-11th

im doin andrews break BIATCH (boom05)

Take my advice though and get thermel spacers from here --> www.outlawengineering.com

a common problem with the K series V6's is the intake manifold gets really hot really fast, and you can mos def feel the power loss, because the intake manifold sits right over the top of the rear head.
so get some spacers, there only like $111 shipped, and one of the best 1st mods for the KL you can get.
It is planned, but not before I get my port&polish heads/IM, race cams, bore TB!

Mmmm... that's an option, but my plan was to make a pulley holder out of it! Why did thay put the water pump on the same belt as the P/S! (hand) lol

cool, just keep us updated, i am really interested in this and i would like to make the streetable version if i can... tommorow at work i am bringing up both wiring skematics and ecu pinouts,

easiest way i can see is a standalone system for engine and let the stock ecu control the ac and everything else...
whats yall opinions?

my brother and i were actually discussing that yesterday....this seems like it would be the easiest just leave the stock protege ecu in like you said for the functions it needs
and then just run a stand alone for the engine...i dunno i don't really know much about these things
peace
dante

it also wouldnt be hard to use the stock kl ecu either, u would just have to tie it into the ac system, which if you get a ob2 version, they should be pretty damn close to the ones we have now.. i mean, if i do this , my first priority would be to get the engine running good, power steering, then ac, i rarely use it as is but it saves u on really hot days..

the v6 626.. did it come with optional 5 speed??

no i don't think so, but the v6 in an mx6 does and its tranny will bolt up to the 626 engine (samething) i wonder what else we would have to tie into the ecu? a/c i don't need and really don't want, as it never gets hot enough around here to need it, is it basically just lighting and stuff like that?

gotcha, we get 4 seasons in one day here lol but its rare for it to be that hot its usually snowing here by then lol

yes it did.
the millenia however never came in 5-speed i believe. i almost bought a 99 5-speed 626.

just get a 96 and up PGT/MX6/626 engine.
the tranny are all the same for all years with the exception of the probe gt.
it has a shorter 5th gear.

im pretty sure if a probe se/mx6/626 ecu can run the FS in them and all the lights/ac/ps, then it should run the same stuff in a 3rd gen if you just get a pgt/mx6/626 V6 ecu.

i am not worried about it running the compressor and sensors under the hood, its the ones in the dash that got me worried...

hmm. i still cant see it being too hard.
my mx6 has all the same gadgets as my brothers protege, and alot more. maybe its because his is a DX but still. the mx6 has more stuff, so im sure with some cutting and splicing, it would work no problem (2thumbs)

i should steal my bro's pro when school starts again, and we can wire the whole thing up. (im taking computer electronics repair 2 (naughty) )

haha, i about to start electronic technology at a tech school , plus i am already a part time mechanic workin for my dad, so i have all the resources i need to do this swap, just finding out more info on it, i am pullin the ecu pinouts on both tommorow, ill post them here...
