I am soon to have a Hiboost turbo P5 when I return home - thanks to Ken at PG and Juan at Hiboost. I will be looking for more power and control of that power down the line, however. I would like to know if anyone has used the Unichip on a non-plug-n-play setup. I know that the MSP Unichip was made for that such car but since I have a P5, that won't help me much. The Unichip makers claim that it will work with "almost any car with an ECU." Anyone tryed it?

Also, I read somewhere that the Unichip can actually help you with emissions testing which may become a problem someday. Can anyone elaborate on that? Thanks for the help.

just a guess, maybe you could swap ecu's? I've never heard of helping w/ emmisions, but one of the few EMS that allow you to pass.

dude your better off getting the HALTECH that Juan sells, or MPtuner from MPNICK. Unichip is ok but what you are getting i think the others would be alot better

I pieced together an msp turbo from the wreckers and swapped my ecu to an msp aswell. So not that it's much help to you since the car technically changed to a mazdaspeed but it did also pass emissions after everything.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. I guess the big Q in my head was about the emissions. I know that Superprotege is still using the F10X on his 26psi monster so I have no doubt of its capabilities.

I still would like to know if anyone has used the Unichip on their ride that is not plug-n-play and anyone else who uses it can feel free to express their opinions on it as well. I just like the ability and the power that Unichip claims to have.

In the end, I won't be running anywhere near 26 psi (more like 10-12 daily). But, I'm pretty sure that with the changes I'm planning on doing to my car will make it fail emissions miserably (626 mani/3" exhaust with hi-flow cat are the ones I'm most worried about as far as emissions).

I know this is old but i was looking for info on unichip.

if you have a unichip certified tuner in the area you can do anything you want with it. Example, i am getting custom maps for my MSP for $375 total tuned at a place in MD. I had 3 shops within an hour of me and that was the cheapest and best Dyno. Call unichip and see if there is a shop near you (not a dealer, a certified unichip tuner)
