Turn the boost up?

wow, did I get flamed. Save your money and buy a spare motor. Thats what I've done. got a 2.0 from a 02 protege, a set of gaskets and I have the money set aside for the pistons and rods (and rings)finally, now I need a bit for the machining. But if I had not thought ahead and were to blow my daily driver id have to put it on my credit card. minus the labor I have tools and a lot of friends with the experience needed.

8 or 9 psi i believe is fine with your mods. if you are unsure then get 92+ gas or add some octane booster with each tank of 91. rather than use a mbc and have spiking problems, just adjust the wastegate (or pay someone with your credit if you dont know how) and enjoy a bit of extra boost. going over 9 you better know what you are doing and have proper mods EX: EMS and btw when you tap your vac system for the boost gauge, make sure it is tapped on the intake manifold or you will not be getting an accurate boost reading and might think you are at 8psi but in reality are pinging like a mofo from higher boost.

i still say just contact rich and get a dual stage boost controller so you only have to run upped boost when you flip the switch. i just recieved mine today and already mounted the hardware (took about 3-4 minutes) all i gotta do is tap some vac hoses and run the wires for the switch (another 30 minutes to an hour at most) and i'll be able to switch between stock boost and 9.5 psi at my leisure, (pretty much only when at the track or the VERY seldome occasion that i mess with someone on the street.)

Thanks for the recommendations fellas. I can get any BoostSciences products for my fellow msp chums. PM me for details and I'll get ya squared away.

I have my 2003.5 msp set at 9 psi with the accuboost controller, I dont want to stress my turbo and engine. What is the stock boost level?some one help me?

if you want to run stock boost why did you put in a boost controller?

MM..I just bought this car used, has only 3000k miles on it, and it has a boost gauge installed too. I checked with the Mazda dealer, they told me that the gauge is fine but the boost controller will void the warranty. I dont want to wave bye to the 3 year warranty that is still active.

I really meant to say 3000 miles only.

The stock boost level is anywhere between 5-6psi, spiking to 6-7psi respectively.

Oh..one more question, do I turn the accuboost controller clockwise or counter clockwise to lower the boost?

umm not sure if it is counter clockwise or not, but it will be whichever way backs the nob out. like loosening a screw
