Turbo the magazine

Has anyone got the new issue of Turbo? If so have you looked at the article with iON? What did they test and what kinda gains were seen.

Are you talking about the FMIC? If so I think it was like 13 or 14 at the wheels.

They tested the ION FMIC..the msp they have baslined at 153.4 whp..with the install of the front mount it was 161.9 whp..thats on a dyno..when yer on the road theres more air going across the the intercooler so it may be higher then that...

You get 8hp at stock boost...up the boost and the gains are much different.

The point of the article was that w/ the FMIC, the problem w/ heatsoak was gone...
They did a couple of runs w/o the FMIC and you see a steady decline in HP.. whereas w/ the FMIC, the HP output was consistent.

yeah...this is what i'm gonna wait for when i get money. heatsoak on the intercooler is one of my major concerns, so putting the FMIC on will help if i boost more. plus it's conviently sized as the biggest without requiring any cutting to the bumper. what i found weird was that they were running a P5 radiator because it runs the length of the bay.

btw, how is the p5 shorter than the sedan ? it's confusing me...with the hatch, shouldn't the sedan be shorter ? confoooooooosing

P5 is like 5" shorter after the rear axle. Wheelbase is the same though.

so which issue of turbo magazine is it in? i went to the store earlier this month and they had the december issue on the shelves but no msp review in there....is it in the january issue? cause what's a january issue doing out in the middle of december?

january has the fmic installed, the mag has a cover of a grey skyline on it. the feb just came mail today but i think subcribers get mag a week or 2 before they hit shelves. feb has no mazdaspeed goodies though.

hey im thinkin about gettin me a FMIC and im wonderin which one is better(iON or Spool)?

I want one caz im thinking about buy a N-ter Cooler Nitrous kit and im thinking it wont fit on the stock one.

i plan on using CO2 though caz its cheaper
