Lol! Glad to help man. Change of plans for bracket dropoff. My girl Diana, who brought me to your place to dropoff the intake piece is gonna drop it off tomorrow for me. Hopefully the zipties will do in the meanwhile! ;)

no s***. they are holding my radiator up all sturdy like till my brackets come in hahaah

So what's the status on the turbo install? Did you get all the parts and start the installation? I stopped following a few pages back.

This isn't going to turn into Mark's weekend turbo thread...which turned into a winter-long project is it?

Hopefully not. At least Mark has other cars to drive :)

When I do my turbo install (almost sure I'm going to go through with it at this point) I'm going to go for record low downtime :) because I gotta be able to get my car to and from work all summer. My plan is to get the EMS, FMIC, gauges and all that fully done and installed so that basically I just need to put on the turbo manifold with turbo and downpipe and be in business. <-- yeah like that'll happen :P

The following post is for the enjoyment of everyone but me. :) Since there's a monsoon outside, when I got home I decided to get the ehaust manifold to the turbo. Well long story short, I got everything on ok, went well, tightened it all, then realized there was no way in hell the lines would reach their destination. Yep, I put it on backwards, lol. It's all set now, but I figured I'd brighten everyone's day a little. (first) I tried to finish scraping the old gasket off the intake mani but it's just not enjoyable so I quit, haha. Mark, I may give you a run for your money with your 5 month mark!

Let me know if you want my help tomorrow. Like I said I'm on break so I'm not doing anything, and I'll be glad to help even if it is just holding things. I can be there in like 2 hours (I'm in NW CT). I like to think I'm at least a little mechanically inclined, as I do all the work on my car myself. I know how it goes though always getting stuck and frustrated.

Haha, na, I have everything I need now, I just have to wait for this rain to let up and I can start putting stuff back. Chris, that is very ambitious of you. I hate to burst your bubble, but there's no way it'll go that smooth, lol. I still have a couple tedious tasks to complete, such as scraping off the rest of the old gasket on the intake mani and finish getting the oil pan off and getting the rest of the silicon from that off the block. Other than that, it's just a matter of bolting everything back on.

reminds me of me...i don;t think i put anything on backwards, what i did do was try and install the dwon pipe, wastgate, trubo and mani one by one...you know hook one part to the other then then the next part....only yo realize after doing this six ways to sunday...you need to line thema ll up and bolt them together all at the same time....live and learn man!!

Haha, well I actually have a new already tapped oil pan from Beau. I just need to get the old one off and put the new one on. Speaking of which, what do you all recommend to use for silicon? I came into work today seeing as how we're suppossed to have t-storms all day.

any brand RTV, high temp will do, and don't be afraid to put some on there, around all the bolt holes....you might want to wait a few minutes be for you slap it on to let it start to cure, but read the directions as always!!
