Transmission

That's absurd...Can they prove that your cai had anything to do with the shifter fork? Isn't there a law to protect people in this situation? Check http://sema.org/.

1300 !?!?!:wtf:

holy buckets

they ripped you off

a CAI will not effect your shifter fork at all, so your warranty covers it. Only when they can prove a modification was the source of the malfunction does the warranty not cover it.

They cannot deny warranty coverage just because you have aftermarket parts on the car. They have to prove that the part caused the failure. Your CAI didn't cause your shift fork to break. If you put the repair on a credit card, inform the company that you will be disputing that charge. The dealer is wrong!

MY GOD!

:wtf:

They can't do that at all. That's liek blaming a rip in the interior on clear corners. I'd call them and raise hell.:o

Can you say JIPPED!!! Phuckin dealership! (argh) How the hell did they figure they would charge you because you had a CAI?

That is STRAIGHT bs. Demand a refund or you'll see them in court.

Well I've got 33,000 on mine. My tranny still works... so far. But it seems to be making alot more noise lately. I'm getting a whining noise that seems to be coming from the tranny under acceleration. I also seem to be hearing alot more backlash. Did ya'll excperience these sounds befor yours bit the dust. Or is it a normal thing and I just never noticed?

I also recently installed the kart boy shift bushing.

Hey, I'm from LA also. Where are you from in lower Alabama? I'm from Daleville. I went to Auburn and now I'm in Arlington, TX. Let me know where you are from and maybe I'll swing by next time I'm home for the holidays.

I Broke A Shifter Fork. The dealer charge me 1300 because i had a injen cold air intake can they do this
They cannot. Inform Mazda USA IMMEDIATELY. The longer you wait, the harder it will be. Call NOW. Stop what you're doing, and call. The internet will be here. From the second link, note this quote:
If a dealership denies warranty coverage, they should be willing to do so in writing. Have the dealer describe the failure which is causing your problem AND how the dealer believes the aftermarket product installed is responsible for the problem. Keep an accurate log of all contacts and correspondence in addressing the warranty denial.
If they wont do it in writing, that means it's immediately their problem, they pay. And if they do put it in writing, you've got an immediate case, either for court or Mazda USA.

Total BS, tell them I and everyone else here said so. There are plenty of mechanics and gearheads on this site.

They are cheating you. There is no way that any type of added power will break a shifter fork. A shifter fork has nothing to do with added power. It's all in how hard you shift. They have been having problems with this shifter fork you talk about. Let me guess, you broke it going from 2nd to 3rd gear? I talked to a Mazda mastertech and he said that they have replaced SEVERAL of these same parts at his dealership. You should fight it! Even if they say it was the added power that broke it, you still can beat it because the CAI only adds like 4whp. Not nearly enough to break anything.
