Hitch weight

What’s the most tongue weight anyone has carried on a CX-5 hitch?
Should be 200lbs, or 10% of tow weight.
Or can the unibody frame handle more weight on a 2” rcvr hitch?
Would be nice to carry my dirt bike on a Hitch carrier, but it would be about 330lbs. Too much I would think. Probably have to use a light trailer

This is both a trailer loading safety and cx5 engineering question.

The hitch you have will have a maximum tow ball weight. Mine is 150kg/330lbs. Yours may be less being in the US/canada, or just because you have a lower rated hitch. The recommended max tow ball weight will be in your owners manual but should be marked on the hitch/bar.

Regardless of the above the Trailer ball weight should be managed by loading the trailer with 60% weight forward of the wheels to avoid it lifting the rear of the vehicle and prevent sway. Generally the ball weight should be around 10% of the ATM.

If you can’t make (edit: all) of these limits work you need to remove weight from the trailer or get a different trailer (I.e dual axle edit: or one with a different axle location/drawbar length)
