2.85 according to the manual. Also, if it's a little whine and double clutching when cold deciding that it's a better product, that's really funny. If something is that runny when it's cold, I sure don't want to use it when it's hot out.

automotive oils will have different viscosities at different temps ... example 5w40 ... on a cold start(the "w" between means winter) the viscosity of the oil will be 5 once warm it will be 40. The lower viscosity when cold will circulate throughout easier. Same rating goes for gear oil such as 75w90 i assume, but i believe that since its gear oil it can't be compared with engine oil, for example, to say 75w90 has a high viscosity than 5w40 just because the numbers are a lot higher.

I purchased MT-90 from JSC speed many moons ago bought 3 qts at about $9 a qt. had it in two days. I liked it but it does like to be warmed up and then is great. But i can only compare to stock and do not drive her in the winter months. I am going to replace again soon so everyones experience with other fluids are a great resource for me too!

The Cold morning 2nd gear grind 08cosmic3 test. Stock=grind, MT-90=grind, Motorcraft=no grind. Use what ever you want. I have read that the Amsoil is also very good but I solved my issue with the MOTO. Search and you will find much praise in many different forums about the MOTO. But then again use what you want.

I am fixin to drain out the royal purple I 'va had in for about 20K, moto sounds like the best bet for the next go, Who actually makes it? is there some fine print on the bottle?

Yeah, i'm at 39k and will need a tranny fluid change soon. Was just wondering if it produces the whining noise like the guy asked but it looks like it doesn't.

you should have gotten a change with your 30K service

the concept is the same

it done with long chain molecules that tend to separate when cold and stick together when hot. creating the "multi viscosity effect"
mechanical shearing tends to break them down, so over time the range of acheivable viscosity shrinks,

I was not aware they had a tranny fluid that meets our needs. I am a Royal purple advocate and am due for my oil change this spring ( they have a filter for us now!) but never noticed the T fluid besides synchro mesh?

Theres also Motul 300 and Eneos. Both reportedly better than Mt90. I have MT90 in my xB and a grind I had on factory fluid has returned and it now feels notchy again. I plan to swap out to either Eneos or Motul. If it comes back after that I should still have my powertrain warranty and will then have Toyota replace my tranny or 5th gear.

yeah, I was talkin to their rep on the phone, the phrasology is confusing

they make a product for manual trannys that for some strange reason need a ATF like viscosity. they also make a normal gear oil but call it somethin else, I forget what. it comes in 2 vis, one is thick hot. 145/90 i think I used one thick and two normal 90/75 or vice verse. they were low on stock. got it from pep boys. I would use it again, but would for sure stay away from the 145, I think it is just to much for the snycros to bite

Around $15-$18 per quart. Worth every penny, IMHO.

Anyone actual used the syncromesh synthetic? I've used it in other cars but was wondering if that worked on the ms3's. We use it at acura when customers complain about a grind in there 6 speed and it fixes it, makes me wonder why our car's don't come with syn from the factory (boom07)

to me engine oil is like socks, cheep is ok if you change em often
tranny and diff lube is like a spark plugs, worth every penny you drop in

I heard lots of bad thing with long term use of royal purple... I dont think i will go that route.
Anyone got experience with MOTUL transmission products. I use their oil since the 3rd oil change and i really love it.
