where are you getting these prices from? I cant find any prices on any of Hi-Boost's stuff.

i was under the impression that the hiboost pipe was just like a 10in section after the s-pipe to the cats. not getting rid of the cats?? or am i wrong???

ya hiboost's dp is just either a new casting or ported stock spipe to cat pipe section. its nothing big and fancy hence why its so cheap. if it wasnt 4am and if i hadnt lost money at the casino id get you a link but im extremely tired. if you look i think its under his new parts post or something. brain isnt working so im out.

you guys keep in mind that this is just a downpipe, not a full exhaust. so when they say turboback, they mean turboback until the end of the 2nd cat

if it got ride of the s-pipe and cats for around $200 then your damn right I'd be in!

what I want to see;
*3"turbo-to-midpipe
*flex pipe or OE spring style
*maybe a resonator in place of a cat(to keep noise down and pass visual inspection, wink, wink)
*cel ellimenator included
*alluminized steel would be fine with me.stainless would be better but would probaly double the cost.

and I don't give a sh*# if it's hard to put in,or if i have to remove stuff to put it in.a little extra work never hurt no one.
any one who says different need to take a look under their car so to see what kind of room they are dealing with.
good luck,and keep us posted

by the way is this going to be a group bye or just a feeler thread?
I don't like group buys, they aren't allways faithful with our money.

Update: I'm calling the guy tonight to set up final details and to figure out who and when to send one of you locals to get a test fit going. As far as the final design its going to be straight from the turbo to the connection at the xmember, this means it completely replaces the crappy stock s-pipe...i'll post details on materials and design specifics tomorrow...I wont have a price until after he does the test fit and figures out how much its costing him to make, but I've already informed him of the price range I'm looking to hit...

Ok just got off the phone with Culver at GTF. Heres what I need for all this to get rolling. First off I need a commitment of atleast 10 people for the group buy, he'll determine the final price after the test fit and build, but for now I've negotiated a max $ of 230. Don't need money upfront, just need the word of atleast 10 of you, that I wont be stuck with $2000 worth of downpipes and an empty checking account. If the price is higher than 230 for some odd reason, the deal is off, but if its 230 or under you are expected to follow through with the deal. Next, I need a local to donate their car for a day to the shop. Preferrably someone who has the CS series exhaust system on their cars, but as this is designed to bolt up to the stock exhaust a stocker will do also. Guys this isnt my shop and we're not doing this guy any favors, hes actually taking time out of his shop schedule to make a product for us, so that means I can't promise a free DP or any sort of discount beyond the GB for the person who sacrifices their car for a day. The only thing I can offer is a thanks and top spot on the GB list(even infront of me). Finally here are the final specs for the DP, I will relay this info to Culvar tomorrow night unless enough of you feel otherwise. The initial DP will be a 2.5" straight off the turbo to the end of the first section at the xmember(this means bye bye crappy s-pipe, unlike with some of the other DPs currently on the market!). It will be designed so that you can add a bolt-on cat or leave it catless, whichever you desire. It will have an 02 bung and be a completely stainless unit. At the moment it is still to be determined if it will have a flex pipe on it, this largely depends on the test fit stage. As far as when this will get under way. well as soon as I get 10 yes posts and a volunteer he can begin work as early as the end of this week. I've tried to cater to the majority of suggestions in the thread thus far. A 3" unit will also be available after the initial batch, but the majority wanted 2.5 and unless you're pushing over 275whp you really dont need any bigger than that.

So, all the DP's will be shipped directly to you and then shipped/picked up from you after you get them?

Or,are we ordering them from this company?

Also, do you have an idea on when this will be finished and, ready to ship after they have the car for the prototype DP?

Nope DPs get shippped straight to your door payments go straight to them, I'm just putting down a marker for lack of a better word. DP will take around a week or so to design, just depends on if he looks up at the car and says "Oh s***" or "This is cake". After the prototype passes just a matter of churning them out. I've dealt with these guys in the past and they're some of the quickest high quality fabricators in the biz...

I'm in bud put me down for one!(yippy) (nana)

as long as the price dosen't go over $230........
