So, I was just looking over my car last night cuz I was bored and I noticed in the radio screen (where the clock and radio station's are displayed), that there is an area for ambient air temperature, but not illuminated. How would you get this to work and/or be illuminated?

Which model do you have? My 2007 3 Hatchback (S Touring Model) had that enabled from the factory. Lower trim levels may use the same display, but they may not come fully equipped to display the temp.

I have an '04 3 hatchback

I really can't help you with this any farther than I have, I don't know much about this. You could look through your owners manual to find out if that was supposed to activated. Anybody else know if the 04' hatches had the temp monitor active?
