Personally, I wouldn't buy someone else's beater (problems) for $700 then expect it to run throughout the winter without sinking more money into it and wrenching on it (at our house every weekend). It just seams like it will nickle/dime you to death. Then again, I'm not the kind of cat who could own a "beater". Yeah, my P5 isn't awesome and needs to work and the Milly still needs a motor, but I wouldn't call either of them "beaters". I still say just get some winter tires and bags of salt for the trunk and run the MSM for one winter while you save up more money for something next winter.
