The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

what more would you want??? lol

it's pretty much a mazda 121!

and probably over 40mpg too!

I absolutely love Craig's list ads:
Asking $500 obo, needs muffler and break line. Runs great, 4 speed, cd player, call, text or email...
They really talk this thing up, I don't know how you couldn't buy it immediately.

Seriously suck it up and do it princess, no reason to destroy the MSM with a salt bath this winter

It would make me sad too if you subject your MSM to an Ohio winter.

Just put some winter tires on the MSM. Another car/truck really doesn't seem like a good idea for you, Peach. I wouldn't trust a beater to get me through an Ohio winter. Personally, I would save up some money and buy a decent truck so you have something to tow the Miata, like you've mentioned before. Just my $0.02 :)

yeah, i kinda agree too!

I have mixed feelings about it, but my current budget is the limiting factor. I just don't want to be stuck with a clunker needing to be fixed to run and I'm out of money, and no winter tires for the MSM. I don't care how it looks or what it is, as long as it can get through the winter.

the tires are the cheapest/safest way to go, and I don't want to wait too long and be caught off guard with no winter tires when it snows. the current tires are getting hard already with the current temps, and the forecast shows its gonna drop more. of course I would limit myself to drive to/from work as much as I can (only 10 miles), and since I don't have a garage then the salt issue is not too bad

Is the budget $500? I'll peruse Craig's list for a while :)

I have $900 total, but whatever I get would need something done and probably tires... plus registration and all that s***. I don't want to spend everything so I can have a little room to do something unexpected

Honestly, if I lived somewhere up north the first thing I'd do would be to buy a very used Subaru WRX Wagon or Outback and a set of steel wheels w/ winter tires. The uglier the better. Drive it maybe once a month during the year, and rock that thing all winter long. Cheap, 4wd, not a lot of power, enough ground clearance, and will drive circles around all the morons with their jacked up trucks and mud tires (rockon)

Everyone else has that idea, too, so Subies almost don't depreciate. Every soccer mom thinks AWD makes her Mario Andretti, or something.
