The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Personally, I wouldn't buy someone else's beater (problems) for $700 then expect it to run throughout the winter without sinking more money into it and wrenching on it (at our house every weekend). It just seams like it will nickle/dime you to death. Then again, I'm not the kind of cat who could own a "beater". Yeah, my P5 isn't awesome and needs to work and the Milly still needs a motor, but I wouldn't call either of them "beaters". I still say just get some winter tires and bags of salt for the trunk and run the MSM for one winter while you save up more money for something next winter.

Regardless, I'll help you out as much as I can, Peach, and I hope you find a good solution you're happy with. :)

The important piece to note here, is that this is a static image.

hahahaha......sigh...wow...yeah, i'm not going to address that grammatically incorrect sentence at all...i don't think my fingers were typing what my brain was thinking...lol

Believe me, man, I also want to see wheels on car, but it's currently in jack stand mode...

Big thanks to Will, Ryan, and everyone else who motivated me and was willing to help me out with this simple-yet-hugely-confusing process that went down over the weekend:

In other news, I get to work 8pm to 6am tonight! All alone. In a grocery store. A couple guys are coming to grind our concrete floor and polish it back nice and smooth/shiny.

In other other news, I went for a run today to tire myself so I can try and sleep before tonight's work. This summer cycling/running has allowed me to lose over 15 pounds and I am in better shape than I was playing soccer in high school. I'm down to 162.5 and had a goal of hitting 159. I'm not so sure that will happen with winter setting in, but at least I came close! Now it is time to maintain during this holiday season...

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Nice job man. I had some goals but (and this may sound like an excuse) the asthma was acting up so bad this summer that getting on the bike just didn't happen as much as I wanted. So... rather than loose the weight to get back down to 185-ish, I gained a bit. I'll just start using the indoor trainer that I have. That may help a bit.

I am looking at get a new bike for Linda in the $400 range anyone have any suggestions for me. When we ride we mostly do the tow path or road riding, looking for a crossover or hybrid bike. Right now she got an old Huffy.

I've got a sweet Proflex hanging in my garage gather dust since I didn't ride this year.. My knee started acting up at the end of last summer, turns out I'm double jointed or something, so the ligaments and stuff like that aren't held in place like they should be, so things were getting inflamed. Sucks, since I really was starting to enjoy riding.

I'm at 174 now, and one of my co-workers and I are trolling the National Fitness League that they started at work. Everyone else is trying to lose weight, and we're going to see how much we can gain. My team mate is like 134, he's a stick, haha. Our name is Team String Bean! If it gets to be too much, I'm definitely going to start lifting and put on some muscle, I'm not just going to pack on 60lbs of pure fat just for a joke at work, lol.

I want to loose 20lbs so you can just have my fat, Wes. Thanks, buddy!

Find a used road bike on CL. Just make sure it is WSD (women specific design). The geometry of the bike is built for ladies. But honestly, in terms of fitness, I'm so happy I bought a semi-nice bike. The $550 was worth every penny this summer, and for many more to come! The lightness over a crossover/hybrid bike makes for a better workout in my opinion==you just don't get discouraged.

The best part is the shifting mechanism compared to a cheapy walmart mountain bike, although I'm sure top end hybrids are very similar. I love my sti shifters

I got a $120 toys r us Pacific mountain bike...15 years ago. Still somehow works??? I live right down the road from the tow path, love the horse trails (the ones that say bikes are prohibited haha). Old Carriage Trail is my favorite. It has 3 sweet bridges, but apparently they're now closed because they're not safe anymore.

I really need a new bike though haha
