The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

That'll happen when it's close enough to you eh?

Sometimes i'll see a flash and almost instantly a loud bang/"explodey" noise- i think that's either a transformer blowing (don't know if that really happens), a cutout/fuse blowing open along a power line, or a lightening arrestor blowing up.

I was out digging for bottles in the derecho last year and a transformer or something blew near me... that was LOUD.

Oh the transformers can surely blow up. Normally when it happens, it's a very loud boom, with a flash of bright purple-ish light, and a lot of smoke shortly after. Couple that with the unmistakable smell of ozone, and you more or less have my senior college labs.

I would like to stay around the 300-350 range and that was doable with getting the FD's. Just pissed that he took them from me. I wish I was in the market when you sold your's I would have grabbed them from you. If anyone sees another set let me know I will grab them. As of right now I will be running my DD wheels sunday.

You're having some bad luck with the wheel situation Patrick.

If you weren't going to use the FD wheels as DD wheels (since it sounds like you have another set for that) what were they for? If track/autocross stuff, TR Motorsport C3s are $129 a piece in 17x9 +48 (2thumbs) Much better tire options in 17s too.

yeah autox and track is what I would use them for. 18's are a lot more expensive to keep putting tires on so I wanted some 16's or 17's to be lighter and cheaper to put tires on. I'll look into those. I promised jake I wouldn't get the same wheels as him but if they are track only wheels maybe i can swing it lol

My GF got a new car yesterday. 2003 Mini CooperS with 16k miles for $12,800. She found it listed online in Chicago so she and her dad went and picked it up yesterday. She's very excited and I'm very happy she got something small, sporty and low mileage. Yay I don't have to touch the Audi anymore! Hopefully this BMW will hold up a while. Oh, and it came with OZ wheels. :)

Very nice, I've always liked Mini Coopers. I just always picture girls driving them lol. I like the wheels

yes my stock wheels have winter tires on them and my drags have cheap all seasons that are lasting forever lol

So why don't you just pick up a set of super sticky summer tires for the drags instead of purchasing another set of wheels and more tires?

I understand the need for an extra set of wheels if you wanted to run r-compound tires or something shaved (for street tire autocross for example), but you were talking about putting those V12's on the FDs.

With some work those cars outright haul. I had one pull away from me at 140. I think it would be cool to have one though, hope to see it zipping around Seville ;)

That's a hell of a lot better than the TT, and more fun too.

Only reason Why I didn't want to do that is because of the amount I drive. I've put 40k on my car in a year.
