The engine just dropped out of my car!

Wow I don't know why so many people on here are having so much trouble with there MS3s. I must have got one of the good ones because my mounts are fine, there's no check engine lights, the car is perfect. But that really sucks that the bolt wasn't tight.
It took 7,700 miles for mine engine to fall out. Are you at that mileage yet? Have you really pushed the car?

OMG!

They're replacing my engine, transmission, and radiator. Not repairing, replacing. That was more than I expected.

Tech had no info about the Mazdaspeed CAI though.

I'm at 13,000 miles, I've had the car since November and drove it all over the eastern united states without any problems. Pushing the car, I think I've pushed the car more than anyone, I'm the one who posted the vid of toping my car at 155 also raced and tracked it numerous times. Maybe people shouldn't be droping the clutch at ridiculous rpms like I here that their doing.

What's ridiculous revs? I almost never 'drop' the clutch, but I've chirped the wheels in second by shifting at high revs.

Terrific I wasn't specifying you, and I've chirped the tires going into third. I don't care, I just think that bolts being lose is crazy.

It is crazy and that's why Mazda needs to step up and make the necessary fixes BEFORE this happens to more people. I'm gonna start pestering my dealer tomorrow. I don't want to have MY engine drop out before they take action.

Other than that, I have no complaints!

hm.. chirp'n 3rd.. i can do that in my time bomb... i mean msp... :) < - on a "good" day

post #77 FTW -- just change "rembering" -> "remembering" - dang.. i been proofreading 2 much today.

Well I agree that if they are getting enough complaints about the same problem they should post a recall on it, you figure it would be cheaper that way until it causes something else to happen. I've been checking my account on the Mazda Website but they haven't posted any recalls yet so we'll see I guess.

I'll correct that immediatley....immediatly....oh what the heck.

Thats just crazy, I think having everyone thats had a problem to post their build dates is a good idea, that way if there is a connection then the rest of us in that time frame can have more of a heads up. WTF MATE sayes hes got 13k on his with no problems so I dont think mileage is an issue? I picked mine up on 10/19 so its basically the first of the batch, I only have 3350 miles on mine though so maybe I just havent found out. Ive definately pushed the car, and its seen 140mph, so I dont know what else to say. I plan on checking the bolts out pronto!!! I do have a clunking noise when I shift and I asked my dealer about that, they said its normal, but I was the only MS3 they had seen so it might of been just an Impulse reassurance, does anyone else hear that noise? I read it on here but I cant remember if it was bad or "normal".

My MS6 start to shake a bit when I pushed it a bit entering a highway...you know when the traffic is going fast and you have to push it...well i was doing 100mph to get a good spot on the car flow lol and all of the sudden i feel a shake...looked at my gaueges and everything seemed find...revs where at 4k etc etc and all of the sudden the CEL came up...put the car immediately on neutral and went on the emergency lane...

the ignition coil broke and was not sending electricity to all of the spark plugs, so ones where making ignitions and other not/little...unbalances behavior etc. i was lucky to be under warranty...had no problems ever since. The car had 2663 miles back then...(remember the miles cuz the roadside asistance asked for them lol)

Just a FYI, on the Canada Mazda forums (hosted my Mazda Canada and with representatives talking to us about the issues we raise (like the P2006 CEL)), they said that the company knew about the issues and why and that they were working on a solution.

As for the P2006 CEL well, they are stocking up on the parts and should issue a TSB in the near future.

Mine started 'clunking' when I was shifting too. I'd have it looked at.

Have I mentioned how amazingly good Alhambra has been to me? They're replacing the entire engine, transmission, clutch assembly, and radiator.

I'll try to see the broken part if I can and maybe even take a pic if it's possible.

I'm taking my MS3 in tomorrow to get the CEL checked out. When I spoke to the service tech/manager on the phone, I'd asked him if any other MS3s had been in for the CEL issue. He said no, none. Which I take as further proof that I'm the only MS3 owner around me....heh, I'll put the crack pipe down now. When I asked him how many CX-7s had come in with the CEL issue, he was like ya, we've had quite a few in for the gas cap issue.

Thank GOD they're giving me a loaner. I'll be sure to ask him to check the engine mounts if he can also. Anything else you all think I should ask him to check before I take the car in?

Yeh I set up an oppointment for next monday, My CEL keeps going on and I had it checked at autozone and it was the fuel cap. Also my battery isnt seeming to hold a charge, (it sat for a good period of time this winter) so on monday their going to go over my car completely, I mentioned this detail to my sales rep I went through and he said to print out the pictures and bring it in and they will look at all the mounts and more specifically the ones pictured. So hopefully if theres anything wrong they will find it! Hope the best of luck to you with yours!
