The head lights are "E-Code" or something like that. E-Code light are designed to have a very sharp cut-off in the pattern to prevent on coming cars from glare. They also turn up to the right to light up road signs.
This is why it would be bad to get J-spec lights. They are designed similar, but since they drive on the left side of the road, the J-spec light turn up to the left. In the world of right hand roads, this causes glare right into the eyes of on coming traffic. (can you say annoying?)
