Spark plugs

i get impatient too. sometimes i get too excited and want to do everything at once. based on your explanation of what the plug looks like - it's running rich (too much gas in the gas/air ratio). no need for panic - could be caused by dirty air filter. replace air filter (if you haven't done that recently) and then check plugs down the road to see if you are still running rich. for more info on spark plug analysis check out this link.

Don't I feel stupid after reading through these threads. It's time for me to change my plugs at 62K so the other day I bought 1 Bosch Platinum plug. Yea, yea, don't need to clown on me...I know our car uses 4 now. I guess I'll keep looking through the threads to see where I can find Denso/NGK plugs.

so you are saying that mercedes used a spark plug for a diesel instead of a glow plug? i guess there is always that one exception to the case, huh.

hey guys go to www.nopi.com they have both the Denso and the NGk plugs personally I run the Denso. no big increase in Hp but your idle is less rough and you get even spark everytime.

I went with the zfr5f-11 plugs and noticed a smoother idle. My old plugs has 21k on them when I pulled them out. I don't know if there is a noticeable/measureable difference if you go with the iridium version.
