Slider Lube ??

Planning on doing my front pads and rotors soon (2002 P5). I've read in various threads and "how-to"s about lubricating the caliper sliders. I know about the piston but where and what are the sliders? Is there another moving part in the brake assembly I don't know about?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

its the pins the calipers slide back and forth on they need some lube to keep from locking up under the extreme heat...axle grease does nicely

you only should need to relube them if they get contaminated and you clean them or if the car is really old and they're binding

switching my brakes this week from stockness to Hawk HPS pads and putting in some brembo x-drilled rotors... Should i be lubing fronts and rear sliders? or is this more a issue with rear brakes only?

Sorry for the ultimate noob question, first time i'm doing my own brakes
