Seriously PISSED at JL AUDIO!

I visited a friend that is really connected in the idustry and he mentioned that JL audio was sending out REFERB amplifiers for accomidation orders (not regular sales). Now these guys are supposed to be not only high line but one of th emore trust worthy manufacturers out there. bulls***!

For those that don't know, accomidations are special "employee of dealers" programs that allow us to buy stuff pretty cheap. JLs accomidations is 70% off retail.

Now I could have sworn one of my amps had a scratch on it form day one, but I couldn't prove it. So when I get home I check the boxes and OFCOARSE there's, in tiny letters, B-stock, printer on the side label.

Now these ass rangers make you sign a contract that you won't sell the amp and only use it for yourself, ect. for one year. YET NO WHERE DID THEY SAY THEY HAD THE RIGHT TO SELL YOU REFERBED s***!!!
NOR WAS THAT EVER DISCOLSED TO ME!!!

Thats the point of there little queer contract. If I sell something off accomidations within a year, I get fired and have to pay JL.
In this situation, They can buy my amps back or I will sell them if I so chose and they can suck my ass. Only becuase I really don't need the Tweeter gig and I don't exactly like them these days either

Keep in mind, customers aren't getting B-stock, store employees are.

If you send JL a speaker that got blown up, they will replace it without question with one that you think is new, but be warned, it's a re-cone. New stuff in an old basket and magnet. Should be just fine, but I still think new is better.

Hmm, damn. You'd think that if anyone, the ones that're getitng show-cased in installers' cars and such they'd want to be looking perfect. Quite sorry to hear, man. Though, honestly, it seems normal to me being in the bike/board industry where pro-forms are ALL about scretch'n dents and such. I never really mind much, but it's still new equiptment. And, well Honestly I jsut take them out and mess 'em up anyway.

Anywhich way, Hope you still atleast hang around here and don't get soured to the whole gig. You've helped alot of us with sooo many things.

Now, as for this contract business... How closely do they monitor this kinda thing? Perhasp you might've got yourself marked now making noise (as you verywell should) but still, Damn I'll try out a new board, and decide I hate it and not feel the least bit of presure not to sell it. Granted it's apples and oranges here, and perhaps it's just a level of industry poliding, but usually they wanna keep bro's bro's and let small things slide fairly easily. Nowthen about that extra buck fifty I found in the sofa just now... REally, though I know it's always good to err on the safe side, but do they really check up on you???

[noflame intended] That does suck but seriously it's accom. stuff you got for 75% off!!! I mean s*** most high end refurb stuff is only like 50% off. I think I got my Xtant amps for -60% and they were accom. I don't think they were refurbs but I don't know for sure. Yes JL is trying to become high end on the amp market but still at 75% off if they run is it that bad?[/no flame intended]

1st MP3 in NH ...if you read the contract is says that they give you refurbs...also it is nobodies buisness what accomedations are on this forum.this is the first year they are doing this. its all because of stores saying they are doing a huge system and getting a ton of gear for dirt then selling it at the retail leval or on the internet or the forums..its making dealers think twice about it.these deals are for employees to buy equipment so they can build a steller system to show off to customers and what not.if you show your car that much to potential buyers(doesnt sound like it to me) im sure if you called the right people you can get a non-refurb.remember they dont have to give those deals!
