I was wondering if anyone has heard of R1 concept Inc. They make some rotors for the protege and i was thinkin bout buyin some, but I wanted to hear from some other ppl if they know how they are or if they have even heard of them.
Later,

i have found that the cheap napa rotors are more than suitable for regular use - and then some... just put a coat or two of high temp (BBQ black) paint on the hub surface and go

I've only seen R1 on ebay. Hence I'll stick to more name brand parts. I'm getting Brembo blanks from CS for pretty cheap soon.

well, when you can go to napa and get fronts for $35 each, and rears for $29 each, plus NO shipping - napa's good enough for me. and at that price, i can afford to replace them every spring (if i REALLY wanted to)

I stick with the real name brands, like Brembo and EBC. Jeff@Tri-Point sells Centric with the hubs coated black for $71 for the pair for the MSP fronts, $68 for the rears. AutoZone, Napa, and Advance Auto Parts rotors will never be found on my car.

thats a good price on the centrics, but then when you figure in $40+ for shipping (cause they're HEAVY), it gets pricey

I have a set of mid or high grade Autozone rotors front and back on my car. No issues. I used the same grade of rotors on my old track car with a race compound brake pad and never had any issues either. If you bed your pads in really well and don't let the hot pads heat soak into one spot on the rotor (which causes an uneven brake pad transfer layer- which is felt as pulsing in your brake pedal or "warping"), then you shouldn't have any problems. Some cheap rotors don't contain enough nickel, which causes them to rust quickly and easily develop pulsing.

I've successfully run Raybestos PG PLUS '00 626 V6 Front rotors on the front. Rock auto sells them for $17 + shipping.

Rears I usually grab from the dealer, but I think Carbotecheng.com can source some decent ones for the rear for fairly cheap.
