the re flash keeps the butterflys in the intake open at all times. thus getting rid of the vtec feel.
I with I did that as the fist mod instead of mod number 23

and oh i see yeah idk i never never noticed that before. and i know i have punched the car before until 7k so it freaked me out. i still think that the car is hesitatiing/ low on power from 3-5 tho seems way to weak until it gets to 5k. I do understand the statement i was told about not alot of power until the vcsi whatever its called hits but still. something seems wrong to me.
 
Our IM has 2 rows of butterlfy valves. The VTCS which is the Variable Tumble Control System. AT 5,200 rpm the ECU tells these butterflies to change position inside the IM. A popular mod is to remove these butterlfies. especially for boost purposes. This VTCS gives the car a VTEC feel. Jiggabro was speaking of flashing the car's ECU and telling it to leave the butterfly valves open at all times and not just in higher rpms
 
is that a good thing to have them open at all times or no? though i read if not boosted its not a good thing to do and it will cause problems?


well not even my honda has vtec so i dont need no damn vtec feeling in my mazda lol jk

by that i mean ive done a ton of mods way before getting the mp3 ecu done.
look for spicy's mp3 flash on the FS thread and you'l see over 70 people that have had it done.
i've had mine for a few months now and im getting a MUCH smoother power band AND better mpg.
only down side is having to use 91 octane. but thats a total of less than $2 per tank difference. AND still better mpg!
i would highly recommend it.
i didnt really notice the vtech feeling much either since i usually shift just under 3k. when if shifted just after that i would feel a little boost of power coming out of nowhere.
now since the butterlys are open, the car feels lighter
 
He is local to me :) I'll be getting it soon. Does it affect anything them being open all the time ? Does that make the car not be so slow/ hesitant 3-5 k?

And lol though that's what u meant at the beginning was just making sure lol.
 
hopefully getting a real intake (injen) from lewis once he goes kl and a catless midpipe

Wasent like that at all when I looked. So need sway bar bushings(on the way already) looks like ball joints/controll arms need to be replaced again there is my clunk noise.. Where can I order good ones from?
