Removing armrest lid

Does anyone know how to remove the armrest lid from the console in a Mazda 3? I've searched but all I can find is how to remove the center console from the car. Thanks in advance.

Sorry Man... I can't help you. But I'd be interested to see the responses. Mine is only 10 months old and I can already tell that the armrest cover will need to be replaced after a couple years.

Yeah all I can say man is good luck with that. I tried to get mine off the speed when I got a arm rest cover and I couldnt figure out how to get it off. If thats what you need it off for.. all I did was stretch the fabric real tight and then tuck it up inside the little slit on the underside of it. PM if you need anymore info.

haha i just posted this same question a couple days ago, i ended up taking the center consel out of the car and working on it in my house. the lid is made of 2 pieces, they just snap together, if you open the lid you will see where the rubber pad tucks in to the seam, just pull from the sides as if to seperate the seam and it will unsnap and you can do whatever it is you need to do (im guessing recover the arm rest?) if you have anymore ? pm me

careful pulling its tricky you have to pull really hard to get the seam seperated, you will think you are going to break it but its fine, if you dont seperate the seam enough when you try to lift it off you could possiable snap one of the tabs inside

Thanks for the responses.

Yes, I'm attempting to install an armrest cover I got from redlinegoods.com. I tried putting it on in the car but it almost seems like they didn't make it big enough (I didn't want to break the hinges by forcing the cover on). It also didn't help that the proper orientation of the armrest cover isn't labeled :(

I plan to take the console out this weekend and see how it comes apart. Thanks for the input, I'll let you all know how it goes. Hopefully I don't break anything.
