I've heard that if your planning on doing a lot of mods to ur MSP that you shouldn't get it reflashed I was wondering if that was true and why??? also if anyone knows how to get some more low end torque??
Thanks,

I believe the flash advances the timing which would be a bad thing if you plan on turning the boost up.

dude just get the flash, if your going to boost to higher levels you'll want an ems anyway and that will change the timing if its a good one. The flash makes your car run 10x better. Less hesitiation, smoother power band, and better fuel economy. Why would you want more low end torque? The car is plauged with traction problems and torque steer, so midrange and upper end torque are more useful for this ride. What are your goals for the car? As in how much whp and wtq you want to make, and how much are you willing to spend.

When its all said and done i want the engine to have mid 300s if not close to 4HP.

that means your going to have to forge your motor. Buy some lower compression forged pistons, rods, rings, arp hardware ect. I'm not sure if you realize it but its vary difficult to hit those numbers and your going to have to spend 10k or more to do so.

400whp on this car take a lot of dedication, time and money, add reliability and your getting up on the $ scale. The car is real fun to drive at around 220whp or so. I would get the flash if I were to d it again, as platinum stated your going to need to run EMS to get anywhere near your goal.

Pirana dumped a ton of money into his car and only has like 270 whp i think so think about how much more money you are going to have to spend to get the car to hit 300 and 400 whp. Realiablity is also an issue being that this car is not really meant for straight away speeds and quarter miles.

I just picked my car up from the dealership today and, at first, they told me that it already had an "update" (the guy just would NOT call it a flash even though he was very helpful =P), and then they told me that all updates had been installed. They kinda change stories a bit but overall, they were MUCH more helpful than i was expecting. but thats a different story. Anyway, the reflash was indeed done because when I pulled out of the parking lot its like a FREAKING DIFFERENT CAR. GET THE FLASH - it pulls so much smoother and harder. You will notice it a LOT the first like 2 pulls you do and it will really surprise you; the car feels like a smooth torquey v6 instead of a rough 4. I've gotten a bit more used to it now but its really driving nice now. Definitely worth doing.

SO I've been reading a lot about this re-flashing issue and I'm going to be picking up my MSP in 2 days from the dealership.. nice thing is they are extending my warranty another 8 years and 100K miles.. perks of where I work I guess but anyways.. I'm trying to make a great daily driver/showcar and I"m thinking 8-9psi is obtainable on stock internals correct?
