Rear Brakes

So, my wifes rear brakes basically are gone with 36k on them. Front brakes are at 50%. I am not the smartest guy in the world but, I would think that the front brakes would go prior to the rear. My understanding is that the font brakes do a majority of the stopping. Anyone with the same issues or am I just mis-informed?

No, you're right...I had my front replaced at around 40K and am currently at 65K and am replacing the rears soon....I couldn't tell you why they would be wearing so dramatically in the rear...Are you sure that the technician is telling you the right info...Seems more in line that the rears are 50% and the fronts need replacing....

Well, he told my wife this. I don't know why the rears would go out so soon and prior to the fronts.

Wife swears she has not driven with the E-brake on and I don't doubt her.

Do a search in here. People have had problems with the their rears & there is a TSB maybe about them. Lube those sliders, slide those lubers, clean & release....not in any particular order. Always wear protection, it makes things last longer. OK kids, how many puns & in-you-endos was that?

I just replaced my rears with my fronts, but they had a bit left on them. Repair shop thought that they rear brakes might start out thinner when I asked why they'd wear out as quickly.
