hmmm, thinking about this one, they look nice

what are the differences between these and the basic?

From what Rick told me:
These are the UR Flap with a gloss finished with the logo printed on it.
The Basic Flaps are more of an unfinished rubber look with the a sticker logo (I think)

Here's a couple more pics to help you decide ;)

yes but you are getting what you pay for...The basics..are basic. The UR are a high quality material and will last and hold up over time and conditions.

I think anyone who went with 8" wide wheels would want a set of these being our cars have such scratch prone paint

theyre repaving a main road near me that I drive every day, as soon as I can afford it, I'm buying these flaps. The less "tink-tink-tink" i hear when driving over loose gravel the better

I have 20k miles on my car, DD and I live in rural PA. My sides are fine, now the front is a different story with rock chips, but my skirts and doors look perfectly fine.

I think I may just get some with the white logo, I have all kinds of crap on the side of my car right now.

Waiting for the cheaper basic flaps.

they have those universal ones from wal-mart that you can cut to fit, they are like $15 per set of 2, so $30 for a set wouldnt be too bad.

If I actually needed them in Los Angeles (where there is no mud and it never rains) then I'd snag the cheapies from wal-mart :)

I'd pay 120$ if they looked like they were designed and molded for the car.
To me these look like DIY 15$ wallyworld flaps. If this material is so expensive, maybe they should have used something else. For 120$ my good friend bought heavy duty 18 wheeler flaps with chrome girl bottoms for his lifted Dodge Ram. Also, I've owned plenty of trucks and can't remember breaking a flap made of "inferior material". C'mon guys, give us something worthy.

if you don't own them don't talk s***. they are molded to the car, and who cares about what you paid for your truck flaps, welcome to the tuner world, we dont half ass red neck style. We also don't have everyone and their mother making parts for this car, welcome to the world of mazdaspeed, it's people that say things like you and half the people in here, that keep companies from making stuff for our cars.

good point...for some reason, mazda's aftermarket is rather small...so just about any part will cost you...look at cams for the protege for example...the only 'good' cams are $755...where you can pick-up cams for every honda engine known to man for $200 or so. you bought a car that doesn't have much aftermarket support...so, you have to pay higher prices...we have all been dealing with this for years...it's the price you pay for owning a mazda. also, most companies that come on this forum do not have very much support from our community, so if there IS something worth-while being mentioned by a company, it usually fails due to lack of support.

we are a rather small community (mazda tuners), so you have to pay to play.
