Purchasing a CX-9

do you think the dealer would still honor this $1000 rebate if i've recently purchased a cx-9? i'm assuming they might NOT mind as the assumption is that they're not the ones giving me the rebate right?

any thoughts?

thanks

Can't hurt to ask...

yeah, i wonder when the rebate started....i could've sworn that at the time of purchase, they were offering loyalty cash back for purchase of a new mazda6, but not the cx-9 but like you said...can't hurt to ask...

I think the CX-9 got added to that program this month.

When we first looked at the cx-9 in February they had the owner loyalty and when we actually bought the car in may they also had it so I don't think its just this month.

2009 CX-9 GT fully loaded paying 32k out the door? How and where???

Just got home from the dealership. Bought my wife a brand new fully loaded 2009 crystal white pearl mica CX9 GT. We ended up paying 32k out the door.

OMG! How did you get such low price? Which incentives did you use? Could you please post the breakdown of your purchase? Here in the Detroit area this is the best I've got from my May 2009 email quotes from local dealers for a 2009 CX-9 Grand Touring AWD,Black, Sand Interior Leather, ASSISTANCE PACKAGE, REAR ENT.SYS./BOSE/SIRIUS, REMOTE ENGINE START, roof rack and the trailer tow hitch and cover:

$41,960.00 MSRP
$38,915.00 S-plan price
$ 190.00 Documentation fee
$-4,000.00 Dealer/Mazda Incentive
$35,105.00 Taxable price
$ 2106.30 Tax
$ 15.00 Title
$ 8.00 Transfer
$37,234.30 Total Out the Door

We originally we dealing on a touring model which we got down to 29k out the door. We took a few minutes to go outside and talk it over and saw the grand touring and my wife loved it with the bigger wheels and roof rack and "shiney handles" so we noted the sticker price was 4k higher than the touring model so we went back in and told them if they can give us the white grand touring model for an additional 3k then we had a deal and they said ok : )

Sticker price on the grand touring was 40700 -
rebates (not too sure what they are for) $2500 and $4000 plus an additional $1000 rebate for mazda owner loyalty.

Thanks for your reply! Really amazing deal you got, IMHO. Congrats!

The $1000 loyalty rebate I don't think I can get because I don't currently own a Mazda... :( Oh well... The $4,000 rebate I'll be getting too. And the $2,500 extra rebate you got is news to me and I don't know anything about it (but it's interesting to know!). Anyone in the forum aware of this extra rebate?

To save $5K I'd be willing to go for a weekend vacation in Boston (I'm assuming you got it there based on your location showed in the forum) and get it from the same place where you got yours.

Could you please poste the dealer name/website here so I can see what I get from them too? :)

Thanks.

Leo.

Seems like there are some good deals in the Boston area.

My GT had a MSRP of $40,910. I paid $32,910.

I used none of the plans that folks are referencing here.

I shopped two dealerships and Ira was able to beat the next closest dealer (128) by 1K.

Inventory + a motivated buyer made for a pretty good deal IMO.

Hi nuhuskyfan,

I think I missunderstood you and Flightmedic. When I say "total price out the door" I mean including all taxes and fees on top of the negotiated final price. The prices you posted here don't include all taxes and fees, just the final negotiated price, right?

Sorry about my confusion. :) I guess I'm not getting such a bad deal after all for 35K (before all taxes and fees) to get a 09 CX-9 GT with ASSISTANCE PACKAGE, REAR ENT.SYS./BOSE/SIRIUS, REMOTE ENGINE START, roof rack and the trailer tow hitch and cover.

Thoughts?

I paid 5% Mass sales tax + $200 for tags/admin fee.

$34,755 OTD

Sounds like your car's MSRP is 1K more.

I think you can do better if you want to keep beating on the dealer.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info, nuhuskyfan.

Good to know. Since I'm not in a hurry, I'll keep playing the game with the dealer. End of the month is approach and dealers need to meet some numbers... :) I'll let you all know once I finally buy the car.

Thanks.

Keep in mind the '10 model year will be on the lots soon so '09 inventory could be limited. That said some people are still buying '08s. Good luck!

Yeap, you're right...
I also noticed that you didn't get the Enterteinement PAckage and tow package, did you? This would add $1000 to your price making it similar to mine. We'll see. I'll try to play with dealer. :) I'll keep you guys posted

I wanted a factory sunroof. Once my little ones grow I'll figure out an alternative DVD setup. No tow either. There are some on here that will tell you that GT's come with tow. I don't know that to be true and to be honest I don't really care :)

I hope you are not buying from Suburban Mazda in Farmington Hills. I too had S-Plan pricing, and when I compared my S-Plan price printout with that one bit*h of a saleswoman over there, she said my numbers were wrong. Keep in mind, this is the official Ford/Mazda S-Plan pricing. So I said I'll fax it over. We talked again, and she said my price list is wrong and insists hers is right. She kept saying "You are wrong" each and every time I try to explain to her this is the official S-Plan price list. She hung up on me in the end.

After 5 mins, she called me back and said, "You are wrong" yet again and try to explain why I'm wrong. I told her to have a nice day and hung up. Ended up buying from Bay City. Troy Mazda was unresponsive after a couple e-mail and I gave up. The other Mazda dealership didn't have a GT in Sand Interior at that time.

This is for an 08 GT purchased last Sept. You would think S-Plan pricing is a no brainer, but apparently some dealerships around here don't care for my business.

buying a cx-9

Anybody use the mazda na coupon for $500 to buy their cx-9's. Did it work out, how did the dealer respond to the coupon? any feedback

Lou

I don't think the $500 coupon and some of the other offers are available if you get S-plan pricing.

Big, I would not expect an issue with this. If you think there will be then just wait until after you have your price negotiated, and do this during normal 8-5 hours so if there is resistance from the dealer you can call Mazda NA while standing there.

Memorial sale

The dealer contacted me today to tell me that Mazda is now offering another $1000 on top of current incentives over Memorial weekend for new 2009's. I'm seeing quotes now around $8250 off MSRP. Might be time to bite.
