Problem with BOV

I put on my Forge BOV today and whenever i shift around 6500 rpm the car stalls out. So i go back up to the place that put it on and the guy doesnt have an answer for me. Does anyone know how to fix the problem, or do i have to face the fact that this BOV wont work for my car.

From what I have read in the forums, the stock ECU can not handle atmospheric bov's, that it needs to be recirculating.

MAF will not send the proper signals so it wont work.
must be recirculating back to the intake track

yea, then thats my problem, it vent into the atmosphere. im goin to put the stock one back on there tomorrow but i was wondering if it could damage the motor by leaving it on

how are you going to control the problem if you leave it on. the car would be running lean momentarily so i would not suggest it

When you shift at 6500 do you just keep the clutch in so the revs drop to idle or do you just shift to neutral, because in either case I can get mine to stall but if I avoid doing that it works fine

when im shift ill drop in into neutral, well every once in awhile a keep the clutch in, but when i stalled out, it was when i put it in neutral

would a good aftermarket recirculating BOV be a lot louder than stock? i am looking to definitly get a BOV in the future purely for the sweet sound. are the only BOVs that are really loud the ones that release into the atmosphere? what are sum nice recirc BOVs?

most likely the loudest BOV you are going to find out there will be the HKS SSQ one or the Greddy S BOV, which vent into the atmosphere. but the "sweet sound" your looking for also depends on how much boost you will be running. we're only running around 7psi stock and cant handle anything past 10psi. So you wont really be able to hear something incredible loud, which im sure you want. And as far as recirc. BOVs, i havent really looked into it at all. i took off my BOV i had on it before, and im know on the hunt for a recirc. on, once i find one, ill let you know.

:-D thanx bro. i dont plan to go more than 7psi only because my warranty is holding me by the balls :-( would it be louder or should i just stick with the stock BOV sound coupled with a CAI?

If you were to put a BOV on there you will notice a difference, i notice it on my car and the one i had on there was a POS. A CAI wont change the sound too much for you. A guy thats doing a Downpipe and exhaust for me, put a CAI in my car and the only thing noticable was that you can hear the turbo spoolin' up a little louder, but other than that there really isnt a difference.

I still plan on putting a BOV in my car once i find one to my liking. But it really sucks when one of you friends has a GTI thats running 21psi and his friend has an eclispe with about 30psi. Knowing that my car will never be as loud as theirs just completely sucks.

dude you have to think about it. On a n/a car the intake temp makes a world of difference, we all know compressing air makes it hotter. The whole intake idea is to make the flow of the cleaned air smoother, everyone w/me. Want performance, I hear Apexi has a line of filters that actually increases hp, cause it flows smoother. That and a larger front mount ic and you are ready to throw as much boost as the engine can safely add fuel to and burn. Exhaust just speeds up the whole process.
