2003 Orange MSP
OK, i am having this problem with my 2003 orange MSP. Whenever im turning (usually from low speeds), and i am accelerating at the same time, it does this thing that is sort of hard to describe but i guess i could describe it as a grinding noise as though there is friction between two things. It only happens after i have been driving for a while and the car is warm. I have taken the car to the dealership 3 times and everytime they say they have fixed it and i get home and it has the same problem. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

hmmmm. What exactly did they say they fixed? Tell them to check the brake rotars. My P5 did this once, and one of the rotors had cracked, and thats what was making the noise. Just my guess though.

It says that they fixed R&R stabilizer links, and replaced both front CV joints

removed and replaced the stabilizer links, and replaced the CV joints.

Limited Slip Differential.

It transfers power to the front wheel that has more traction. Without it power would go to the wheel with the least traction.

they say they are going to replace the strut bar..... would that have anything to do with it?

never heard of the strut bar going bad in ANY of the proteges. that would be a new record for the MSP! (thumb)

I had the same noise...correct me if im wrong...its sounds almost like a clicking cv joint if you start off from a dead stop with the wheel cut in either direction; if thats what your hearing, i brought mine to the dealer 2 times and they couldnt figure it out either. I just changed the gear oil to red line synthetic 75w90 and it cleared the problem right up.

Alright, the dealer says they changed the bushings for the strut bar which has fixed the problem.... atleast for now. Are these the same things that are related to the "clunk" problem? They said there was no paperwork needed so i didnt find out exactly what they replaced, but i think i might call them later just to see.
