Check out this video of my CX-9 engine noise.
Popping or knocking from intake area around 2500 rpm especially right before a gear shift up. There aren't any codes present. This noise occurs mainly when I'm between 2500 -3000 rpm, right before a chaing into a higher gear. Although I can cause the noise to happen by giving the gas pedal a medium push. If I let off the gas it stops. If I floor it, it stops. Is this backfiring? Could it be a vacuum leak? Maybe the manifold gaskets?
I'm clueless. This has been going on for a couple of years. The mechanics can't recreate the issue but it happens every time I drive the car.
Please help, any opinions would be helpful.
