Other turbos with a T3 flange?

What options do we have for ball bearing turbos with a T3 flange. . .I'm looking to upgrade my turbo (after driving a few ball bearing turbos), mine lags too much!

I appreciate the help.

I've seen that page before, but I'm not putting another T3 in the car if I can help it (unless someone "builds" a very good "T3", but I doubt it). I couldn't tell from that page if the others would bolt up or not. I can't see a reason why I would need anything over a gt28 either and that one I have no idea what the flange is like. I'm feeling pretty clueless. . .it looks like this will require a new manifold, downpipe, intercooler pipes, etc. Time for another damn turbo kit by the sound of it!

Any MSP want to upgrade? I'll by the old manifold and turbo.

gt28 uses a t25 flange i believe. I can't see how a t3 is so laggy...its not really that big. Did you check for boost leaks, etc...

Yeah, boost leaks will own you with turbo lag! I know for shizie! Also, fuel delivery will affect this as well from what I've experienced. How are your maps?

Oh s*** . . . I never thought about leaks. . .man to think that the hoses that I have just laying around the engine are supposed to be hooked up to stuff! :D

Maps are good, car pulls, but the time it takes to build boost is not even close to the other cards. Their boost needles swing right up when you hit the gas. Mine just climbs slow and steady.

Just my opinion. Anyway, I appreciate the help. I need solutions, the T3 is coming out (different issue).

let me ask, when are you hitting full boost around? if its like 4500rpms on a t3 then you have problems and getting smaller turbo wont help.

I can build boost pretty low, but it is full spooled between 3 and 3.5k.

I understand and appreciate the help Jeff. This isn't a performance issue as much as a reliability issue, but that is bad wording on my part, I mainly figured that if I was replacing the turbo, I would upgrade at the same time.

I know my brother's MP3 with the 16g spools up way faster and easier than my T3.

damn dude how fast do you want spool, if you are hitting full boost between 3-3500 thats almost as good as it gets unless you want a supercharger!

The only way I can build that boost is to be ON IT!

IF I was cruising along out of boost at 3000 rpm and hit it, I wouldn't build boost until much later. It is hard to explain until you drive my car and my brother's side by side, they behave completely different.

Either way, I need a replacement turbo. . .so back to the original question.

I assume a GT30 is too big?

What I have also discovered if you have to much fuel dialed in around the boost threshold, you will also lag bad.

:)

Need turbo info. . . (Really I appreciate the help, but the turbo is coming out, need a replacement and I don't trust Garrett / Turbonetics right now unless someone can convince me otherwise.)

oh yea to answer you, depending on the size of the gt30(theres more then 1) it will be close to the size of a t3 i believe, but it will be dual ball bearing hence it will spool alot faster.
